Spring 2015 Transfer Applicant to CSULB SJSU & CSUF! What are my chances?

I am a transfer student that will have 60+ units from an out of service community college after this semester. I currently have around a 3.3 transferable gpa but it should go up after this semester. I completed my golden four Spring 2014 and tried to take as many classes related to the majors I applied for, which are CSULB: Kinesiology Exercise Science, CSUF: Kinesiology, and SJSU Biology with Emphasis in Systems Physiology. Some of those classes include Statistics, Anatomy, Physio, a semester of Physics, and nutrition. I am extremely anxious to know if I will be accepted and I was wondering what my chances are for getting into these schools. I am worried I won't get in since I have not completed all of the prerequisites for the majors I chose at SJSU and CSULB. ASSIST did not have Fullerton's current articulation for the community college that I go to. Please feel free to give your input on my situation.

when i attended csulb’s transfer seminar, our speaker told us not to use the ASSIST website for determining what pre-reqs courses we are supposed to take. Instead, we are supposed to follow this one http://www.csulb.edu/depts/enrollment/admissions/transfer-major-criteria/CHHS.html#q_g17</a></p>

you might want to see this as well. admission decisions will probably me made on the 1st week of october.
i believe you have a good chance of getting in as long as you have finished the major prep courses. are you currently taking intro to psychology?

good luck to us!

I got accepted to CSULB this morning. 3.2 transferable GPA. Asian American Studies major. Completed my golden 4 during the summer. Good luck guys  I’m sure you’ll get in!

I was denied today (spring 2015) from CSULB with a 2.83 for microbio it was worth a shot!

I was denied CSULB today for Kinesiology… I think because I was missing a pre req for the major… Oh well it was worth a shot! And @mpen181 I already took intro to psych.

sorry to hear that. i got wait listed…oh well

@mpen181 I’m so sad… should have applied to a major that wasn’t so impacted. The campus is so beautiful! Well hopefully you get in!

are you going to re-apply again for fall15?

You can compare past fall and spring admission thresholds for various majors at SJSU here: http://info.sjsu.edu/static/admission/impaction.html</a></p>

@mpen181 I’m going to see if I get into the other schools I applied to and if I don’t… well I haven’t really thought of a plan B yet lol

ah i see. do you happen to when will csu fullerton post their admission decision? i have also applied to sjsu and csu fullerton and ive considered those two as my safety schools. if i dont get in to both schools then im doomed hahah.

You can reapply in the fall if you do not get in for the spring. Selectivity can be different in the fall versus spring. Of course, you can also apply to less selective CSUs that have your major.

@mpen181 I am not sure but I think we should be finding out in about 2-3 weeks… I’ll be doomed too and I can’t wait any longer to apply for the fall I just want my education now!! :frowning: lol

I’m sooooo anxious. I only applied to csuchico for spring and I really hope I get in!!! I’m also relieved that I’m not the only one who didn’t get a decision notification yet.

I’m waiting on decisions from csuf and csula for spring 2015, I already put in two more applications for next fall just in case.

To all transfer students applying to csu schools. If you are earning a AA/AS degree for transfer, you are given priority consideration for addmissions. Check out adegreewithaguarantee.com

@dm93063‌ that’s nice to know, but too bad my CC doesn’t offer a degree I want :stuckouttongue:

My CC also does not offer a degree for transfer… I feel like us transfers are getting the bad end of the stick here! Everyone post your admission decisions when you find out!
