Spring 2015 Transfer Thread

Hehe, I’m fairly resigned to not getting in at this point given the much lower acceptance rate than I thought, but if by some miracle I do I’ll probably live in a non-dorm situation: townhome, apartment, etc. As a 30+ year old student, I’d feel weird living in a dorm with a bunch of ~18-22 year olds. =)

November 15 is when decisions come out for all of us, it is on the Cornell website! :-)

@PSC2IVY‌ Could you link us? That has me super excited.

There is this new website: google.com

@PSC2IVY‌ wow so sassy. I thought maybe that info was on a specific area on the website that wasn’t easily found.

@rdlp123‌ Admissions are rolling, meaning they are announced as decisions are made starting on November 15th. All decisions are NOT made on Nov 15 (Although- I wish they were!).

<a href=“Admissions | CALS”>Admissions | CALS;

@fortsibut‌ Don’t lose hope! You’re a non-traditional student like me, Cornell likes a diverse student body and likes to see non-trad students who excel. There is still hope despite the low acceptance rate. =D

I doubt they start releasing decisions on a Saturday though…Probably the Monday after?

@steffy16: thanks for the encouragement, hopefully both of us will get in. =) Which school are you applying to? I certainly haven’t given up hope (I’m as excited for the responses as everyone else) but I guess I’ve tempered my expectations a little bit!

Anyone know what form the responses will take? Thought I remembered seeing that we’d get emails with a link to the decision, but it wouldn’t be to the Cornell self-service page that we used before, but I’m having trouble logging into the self-service page now so not sure. We for sure won’t get snail mail responses?

EDIT: So my financial aid “to do” list finally appeared after three weeks, and it says that pretty much everything on it was do October 15th. Think it’s actually worth doing/mandatory to do before responses come out? I’d hate to track down all the docs and fill out the forms for nothing. Thoughts?

Ugh, *due.

I got an email from Cornell regarding what I still needed to send in. They said the deadline was this Friday November 14th and that all documents should be sent to IDOC College Board. Hope this helps!

@DukeSilver17‌ Yea you’re right, they’ll probably start that Monday after.

I got the same email regarding financial aid docs a couple of days ago too! I’m not
missing much… just a couple of simple docs.

ACCEPTED INTO CALS FOR SPRING 2015!!! >:D< I am in disbelief! Did not expect to get a decision today, let alone this week! Got an email linking me to a decision page with the acceptance letter!!!

The letter also states that I will be getting an official letter in the mail, along with information for financial aid and housing/dining.

Good luck to everyone, look out in your email… you may get a decision this week too! =D

Accepted too!! Was not expecting it this early haha. Congrats @Steffy16!!!

Got accepted too this morning! I guess they are really starting to roll out acceptances!!! Congrats to you both!

@hugoblack‌ @DukeSilver17‌ Woohoo!!! Congrats to the both of you! How exciting!

Congrats @hugoblack! What happens now??

@DukeSilver17‌ Well, I guess now we finish submitting financial aid docs, get situated with housing, and wait for our official letter to make sure it wasn’t a hoax =D lol

So I tried messing with the housing sign-up, but it won’t let me input my room situation preference (like single, double, triple, etc.) so I can’t proceed with the housing application. Has anyone else experienced this problem??

Haha @Steffy16 I totally agree with waiting for the official letter to make sure it wasn’t a hoax!!

@DukeSilver17 I just tried signing into the housing portal and I was able to sign in. I was previously not able to sign in so I saw that as an improvement.

Did y’all get your acceptance letters at 10am?
