Anyone hear back from the committee yet?
Yes! I just found out I got in!
I was accepted for the fall 2016 semester and deferred until the spring. When I click on the acceptance reply form it leads me to an error page. Anyone else have this problem?
bappel,
Congrats! See you there! I’m having a hard time accessing the acceptance form, as well. I’m also unable to log into the financial aid site.
My husband said that this is normal and it will probably be fixed later today or tomorrow.
Fantastic. Is your husband a GS student?
No, but he used to work in admissions for another university.
Will you keep me posted if the issue is resolved for you?
Keep me posted if the issue is resolved for you.
bappel,
I’ll let you know if/when it works out. As of right now, nothing yet.
Same here
@bappel83 Hi, same situation I was accepted for fall 2016 but I deferred my enrollment for spring 2017. I’m getting the same error message as well, when trying to access the acceptance form. I’m curious on whether we will have to inform them that we already made the initial deposit or if the system will only need us to accept the admission. Also, is anyone else planning on attending the “Planning day” in November? I’m hoping they’ll let us register for classes during the Planning Day, since I imagine certain class section will fill up very quickly. Congratulations to all of the student who were accepted for the spring term! I’d like to add, for anyone who isn’t accepted for the upcoming semester, please don’t be discouraged. My first time applying I was not admitted, however, I made note of the feedback the admissions committee provided and worked on strengthening my application. If anyone has a similar experience, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
I’m fairly certain that the portal will be fixed tomorrow (Monday). Most likely we will only need to inform them of our admission because the paid deposit will already be in their system. Congrats to you too, by the way! I signed up for the planning day on 11/10 and emailed the department to set up an appointment with an advisor on 11/11. The GS calendar shows online class registration won’t be open until 11/14 (?) so I’m guessing we will have to wait until then. I’ll update here if anything changes for me.
Good call, I just got an email from them about the technical difficulties regarding the acceptance form.
Thank, @Tajeli! Hope to see you there! Do you know if the academic planning sessions/planning days are strictly in-person only, or if there are remote options? I’m currently on the west coast in my fall semester, so a visit might be more difficult to plan for.
@bappel83 @throwaway2875 @Tajeli
Hi all, I’m an accepted student here too! I previously encountered the same error message, but it seems like the Online Acceptance Reply Form has completely disappeared after GS sent that technical difficulty email. Was wondering whether any of you were experiencing the same situation as well?
@bappel83 @throwaway2875 @Palmier
Hi Guys (or girls), I just checked and the link for the acceptance form is up and running. @throwaway2875 yeah theres a link for registering for remote planning days on the GS planning day webpage (https://gs.columbia.edu/aps). Hopefully get to meet some of you at the planning day in Novemeber, and also at the orientation in January. Again congrats to everyone :).
Thanks for the help! Just sent in my acceptance and the deposit. This is all feeling too unreal!
@Tajeli
Thanks for the heads up!
Has anyone received their admission packet? I got the decision update on my application, along with the Dean of Students memo and the new student checklist, but I haven’t actually received anything in the mail. I submitted my acceptance reply form for next semester and put the tuition deposit down, so I don’t think I need the admission packet, but I was just wondering if I would still get one. Thanks!
Congrats on those accepted But the hard part is to get a good grade in here!
