Spring 2017: Transfer Application

Has anyone applied to CUNY for the Spring 2017 semester?

I did, to city college. What about you?

I applied to Queens, Hunter, City College, and John Jay.

Hi @queens12 did u hear anything from them?

I applied to fall 2016 but I deferred my application to the spring. I’m so inpatient and I was wondering if u know when will they get back to us.
Thanks

I am thinking middle October.
Not 100% sure yet.
I will let you know if they process my application sooner.

@queens12 thank you, I’ll be sure to do the same.

I applied to Hunter, Baruch and Queens. I’ll be sure to post any updates. Good Luck!

Hey everyone! I really want to apply to Hunter for Spring 2017. I LOVE the city and I really like Hunter a lot. I am currently a freshman at a community college who has taken a summer class. This summer course was a history course and my GPA is currently a 4.0. My SAT is a 1300/1600, with a 600 math score and a 700 critical reading score. My high school GPA was a 3.14… Should I apply for the spring 2017 semester?

There is no harm in trying. CUNY will take your Community College and High School GPA in consideration. Are you attending a CUNY Community College?

Just got an updated message, “Your application is complete and under review,” so I think we have another 6 weeks for a decision to be made (mid October).

Did anyone have to make changes to their application? I had to and the process is so slow. Its been over a month with no updates to my application.

I didn’t make any changes, but I waited about about 3 months for an update on my application.

What does your the portal or automated hotline say?

You should call the CUNY admission hotline and find out what’s going on.

Got an update on Sept. 30:

Your application is complete.
An admissions decision has been made by the college(s) listed on your application.
You will receive notification from only one college choice shortly.

The hotline says "Queens College,"so on Monday 3rd I gave Queens College admissions office a call and the person asked for my SS# and said I got accepted and I just need to wait for the admissions email.

So I am just waiting for an email.

For those of you who see an empty “gray box” on their portal admission page, it doesn’t mean anything bad. Its just that the portal didn’t update.

The hotlines said Brooklyn College for me and that I should be hearing from them in two weeks. BC was my first choice so I think I got in.

sounds like it!

You can call BC admissions office Tuesday and tell them that the application portal says that a decision has been made and hopefully they will ask for your SS# and tell you. Some staff members in the admissions dept. will tell you, while others won’t. If a person doesn’t tell you, try calling back at a different time to get another person, you might get lucky.

I am hoping that we get acceptance emails sometime next week.

Hey guys, I’m so grateful to have found this conversation! I’m also waiting for a decision from cuny to transfer in the spring 2017. I applied to Hunter college, City, Baruch, Lehman. The hotline says I should be hearing from Hunter within two weeks (that was a week ago that the automated system changed).

Has anyone else heard anything as of late?

Hi,

I am guessing Hunter was you first choice, if so then you probably got in because if a college doesn’t accept you, CUNY usually sends the application to the next college and it keeps on going like that until your application reaches the last college.

Mine updated about a week ago too, but I think because of the holiday week we didn’t get an acceptance email yet, Not sure!

Sometimes it takes more than 2 weeks to get an acceptance email (reading from old posts).

I am hoping that we get an email this week. It sucks waiting! I want to make my deposit and get everything else ready.

Note that CUNY only sends acceptance letters by email, so make sure you check your junk/ spam folder from the email address that you listed on your application (reading from old posts).

Did you get an open house email from Hunter?

You can always give Hunter a call in the morning and ask them for the status. Make sure that you tell them that CUNY portal says that they have already made a decision.

I haven’t gotten an email about an open house from Hunter and I think I’m going to I’ve them a call. The holiday week thing makes sense, hopefully it’s soon!! Haha

I just checked Hunter’s website, they didn’t post any open house dates yet. Don’t call CUNY for any updates on which college accepted you because they will tell you the same thing that’s posted on the hotline and portal. I have read on other posts that they are not allowed to give out that information. Call Hunter’s admissions office directly!
