Spring 2017: Transfer Application

@queens12 No on both of those accounts. They finally took the queens college banner down and I have messages from Brooklyn College regarding financial aid. Has yours updated?

@Bcs313 I still haven’t gotten my official acceptance email from Brooklyn College. This site https://myenrollment.brooklyn.cuny.edu/ says that I have been accepted so I’m not sure what the deal is. My CUNYFirst still doesn’t have the Brooklyn College banner either. I’m not sure what to do.

@crimbot have you checked your span and junk folder?

@Bcs313 I did get a few emails and I also signed up for Transfer Orientation in NOV, but CUNY portal and CUNYfirst didn’t update yet. If it doesn’t update this week, I will give Queens College a call on Monday.

@crimbot The best thing to do is to give Brooklyn a call and explain that you checked online and it says that you got accepted, but you didn’t receive an email.

Long story short: I called CUNY this morning to inquire why i did not get in and they told me that they cannot give me such information and that I should call admission office of city college itself. So I did that and another person on the phone tried to look up my records and she said that my file did not want to open and she transferred the call to a person in charge of records. He was looking up my paper record for 15 mins and when he finally found the actual files he told me that the information on papers does not match the one in computer and he told me that my admission decision will be reconsidered!!!

@queens12 I guess I’ll do that too if I still can’t get into BC’s webcentral at the end of this week

@Bcs313 I went to the admissions office and got my email issue resolved. I should also be getting the physical acceptance letter/commitment form this week from them. As for the BC Webcentral issue we won’t be able to create one for a while until CUNYFirst decides to update our information. Anyone else having issues with Brooklyn College, you can contact their admissions office and they will definitely help.

@MattyBoy910 my portal hasn’t changed, it still says that my application in under review.

My status has just changed to “Application is complete” Is there anyone who did not get in and have this status?

I don’t know if this helps but, I applied to 5 schools and when I called to check the status of my application they said I should hear from Hunter (my first choice) in 2 weeks. I also signed up for the cunyfirst portal and it showed me how much financial aid I would receive in terms pell and tap. Also, I had no idea they sent emails out about admission. Crossing my fingers.

@Bcs313 CUNYfirst updated to Queens College for me; however, I am still waiting for my Credit Evaluation to be completed. CUNY portal didn’t add Queens College as an option yet and CAMS (webcentral) didn’t update yet. Queens IT said to give it a few more days for me to show up in the system.

For anyone still waiting to hear back from their college of choice, it’s worth calling the other colleges you listed on your application. Today, I called Lehman College which was my 4th choice and I asked if I had been accepted. The woman I spoke with asked me for my SSN and said I did not get accepted to Lehman College, I got into my first choice (Hunter).

I got in!!! So there was an error with my documents in their computer as I am an international student!!! I am so lucky that I called at the right time!

@slavon congrats! Hunter? lucky thing you called.

FYI: A lot of people live in Brooklyn and commute to Manhattan because it’s easy to commute to and cheaper.
I have noticed over the years, a lot of people are leaving Manhattan to live in Brooklyn. Manhattan is just to darn expensive.

Has anyone got a response from CUNY while their application still says it is under review and takes 8-10 weeks? I’m hoping to hear back next week but idk. I’m not sure if I should call again or just wait till my application updates.

@Brohare You should try calling CUNY Welcome Center to see if there are any updates.
Did the hotline match the portal status?

Which CUNY schools did you apply to?

Yeah the hotline matches. I applied to Baruch and BMCC. I really want baruch more than anything.

@Brohare I was going to say to give Baruch and BMCC a call. You might be lucky and get someone from admissions who can look it up for you. A lot of people were unlucky to get an exact answer from Baruch, not sure about BMCC. You can try!
Did you apply late?

@queens12 gotcha okay. I’ll try to call Baruch on Monday then. I called cuny and they said I should hear by middle/late november. I applied on September 1st so a little later than most.
