Spring 2017: Transfer Application

my friend got an acceptance letter for baruch transfer last week. I’m waiting at this point too for baruch because the hotline said baruch for me as well.

but i realize decisions are faster for intra-cuny transfer students that those who are not already in the cuny system.

@jle7201 I think you should accept your intent to enroll ASAP.

Read the link on how to pay your enrollment deposit:

http://www.hunter.cuny.edu/onestop/finances/bursar/pay-my-commitment-deposit

Also, this payment due dates for tuition: http://www.hunter.cuny.edu/onestop/repository/files/finances/payment-due-dates-spring-2017.pdf

@slavon I would try giving them a call next week, if you don’t get a response this week.

You might get lucky to get someone who will give you the info.

@queens12 has you Credit Evaluation been completed yet?

@Bcs313 not yet!

@queens12 they just told me to wait…

They also told me that I am admitted though=)

@jle7201 Also found this:

All accepted students are required to pay a non-refundable $100 Commitment Tuition Deposit. The Commitment Tuition Deposit enables each student to confirm enrollment at a college to which s/he has been offered admission and will be applied to the first semester tuition charges. For the Fall semester, the deposit must be received/postmarked by May 1, the national deadline for accepting offers of admission and financial aid. Students admitted after the May 1st deadline are strongly encouraged to pay the deposit as soon as possible.
For the Spring semester, the deposit must be received/postmarked by December 15. If you are admitted after December 15, the deposit is due 10 days after the date you received your admission notification.

@slavon Great! Hopefully you get an email soon.

City Tech?

Thanks @queens12 . Do you happen to know if I mail hunter my deposit tomorrow, when will they notify me my orientation and advisement dates? I’m scared they will notify me late and the classes I want will be full.

@jle7201 I am not 100% sure, but as soon as they get the deposit they will start updating your file. I would say, start checking to see if CUNYfirst updates mid next week, usually your registration date will be posted on their. You might be able to register for classes before orientation (I think it took a week for me).

For me, once I acknowledged that I would be attending, I got a quick email about signing up for orientation.

Usually at orientation you will meet with an adviser to go over your transfer credits and to see what’s the best classes to take.

Since you are a CUNY student, it’s best to use CUNY TIPPS to evaluate your couses yourself, just in case a credit evaluation is not completed before your orientation date.

As for registering late and classes being filled up quickly, remember that all New transfer students are almost at the bottom of the list, so hopefully there are still some goof classes to choose from.

@queens12 Would handing the in the deposit in person accelerate the whole process since mail takes a few days? I just want to register for classes as soon as possible. Also, what college are you going to this spring?

@jle7201 If you can, I don’t see why it wouldn’t be a bad idea. I would think that once the Bursar’s office enters the payment into the system, your status will get activated. Also, you can probably find out from someone when your account will be activated, so that you register for orientation/ classes.

Also, I will be attending Queens College.

@jle7201 I don’t think you need to pay the $100 deposit you are admitted into hunter’s seek program or receive financial aid. Also when you received the email you should have received a link of where you can view acceptance letter. If I’m not mistaken you can pay online.

Thanks @queens12 @bosslady28 . I didn’t know that I don’t have to pay 100$ deposit if I receive financial aid. I already sent my 100$ out last Friday. Now I am just waiting for the orientation and advisement dates from Hunter

Has anyone heard from baruch yet?

I got my admittance email to hunter on the 1st also!
&& for the deposit info according to my letter, you have to make the payment in person. They said the payment will be posted to your spring tuition so you should get it back when you get your financial aid. Financial aid wont cover it before hand.
I would do it ASAP just so you can get your credit evaluation and figure out your plan.

Did anyone hear from Baruch yet?

I take that back, according to this:

You can pay online!
