@dummy27 Once you click the intent to enroll, you will receive an email about signing up for orientation. They didn’t ask for a deposit.
@crimbot have you had any updates since sending in your form?
@dummy27 You can also register before the orientation date. Registration opens on the 14th for new students. You will need to check your CUNYfirst for the correct appointment date.
Hopefully, you get your credit evaluation soon.
The next orientation date that I see is Dec 1st.
@queens12 How long did it take after submitting your intent to roll to get the second email about orientation? Also, don’t you need to see an adviser before you’re allowed to register for classes?
@dummy27 It took about an hour after submitting my intent to enroll to receive the orientation email.
No, you don’t need to see an adviser before registering because I would think that if you wait for orientation to register most of the classes will be filled up.
On CUNYfirst you will see your registration appointment and you will be able to register on that day/ time.
If you don’t receive a credit evaluation by your registration date, you will need to do a self evaluation. If you are a current CUNY student you can use this site: http://tipps.cuny.edu/
@Bcs313 Yep, I’m finally able to make a BCWebcentral account. I have to make an appointment to be advised and a registration appointment.
So my Hunter login page updated and it says my deposit is waived and my credit evaluation is in progress. https://gyazo.com/66c522fcc795e994c02060fba47233a8
Does anyone know when i’ll be receiving my orientation and advisement dates from them?
@jle7201 it says 4-6 weeks i think after the evaluation is done then they tell you about registration and orientation
@bosslady28 . Are you going to Hunter this spring as well?
@jle7201 yes
@crimbot I made mines today too but how do you make an advisement appointment and registration appointment
@Bcs313 you should see it when you login top-left SMART - Registration Appointment
@queens12 I got the orientation email and reserved the date. I noticed this line in the “Academic Advising Center Hub”
“All new transfer students enter Queens College undeclared… Therefore, most of our transfers need to declare their majors in their first semester of Queens College.”
I specifically put computer science on the transfer application. This has got me thinking I haven’t really been accepted into the program. Would happen to know anything about this?
And were you able to get your CAMS account working yet?
@dummy27 That’s correct! All new transfer students are entered as undeclared.
It took about a week for CAMS to be activated.
Once you activate CAMS, you need to go into the QC registrars page and on the right hand side, you will see “FORMS” click it and you will see “Declaration of Major/ Minor form.” When you click the form you will need to fill out the details and print it out.
Once the form is printed out, you will need to get it signed by someone in the Computer Science office and then you need to drop it off to the One Stop Center for processing.
If you haven’t done so already, I would recommend signing up for a tour or tour the campus by yourself. I don’t know if it is just me, but I found the the campus a little confusing.
Does anyone here know if hunter requires you to have a certain amount of credits to be able to transfer into the school?
@bosslady28 you’re totally right. Mine just updated today to being waived. Thanks for telling me! I literrally had the money in hand about to take the train up there 5 minutes ago.
@jle7201 There is no certain amount of credit requirements. This is how it goes:
less than 24 credits your HS transcript and College transcript will be evaluated.
More than 24 credits, your college(s) transcript will be evaluated.
The more college credits with a good GPA, gives you a better chance of getting in.
(This is my estimation from all CUNY colleges)
An AA/ AS gives you the best chance.
Thanks @queens12 . Is everyone who is admitted to hunter for the spring set as undecided or the major that you put on the CUNY application?
If it’s the one you put on the CUNY app, I put liberal arts and science, but I plan on doing biology. Could I change it on the spot once I get to advisement.
@jle7201 You can always change your major.
