Spring 2017: Transfer Application

I was so worried before I’ve seen these conversations!
The hotline says I should be hearing from Hunter college soon, but I wasn’t sure I am accepted or not. I tried to find Hunter admission office’s phone number, but there is only welcome center’s number on website.
I sent an email just now, and I’m waiting for it.

I think the Admissions Office and the Welcome Center have the same number: I would call the Welcome Center number and ask to speak with an admission’s counselor and advise them that CUNY portal says that Hunter has already made a decision. From what I have read in previous posts, students usually get generic messages from emails. Calling Hunter directly might be faster.

Hello All, congrats to you guys who are getting decisions. I finally got confirmation that my application has been updated. CUNY’s system is suuupremely slow but the people at the actual welcome center are really nice and helpful.

I called and the automated message said a decision was made by Hunter which was my first choice but I’m trying not to get my hopes up in case the decision is a denial. Fingers crossed though. I may call Hunter tomorrow and try my luck.

Yep! The best thing to do is to give Hunter a call tomorrow.

Hopefully admission emails will be sent out sometime this week.

Guys, I’m applying to CUNY as freshman in the spring, and I listed Sophie Davis as my top choice in the application although it doesn’t have spring admission (I didn’t know that when I submitted the application). Does anyone know if it will slow down my application? Can it prevent my application from getting through to other colleges?

The best thing to do is give City College a call in the morning and ask for an update:

PROGRAMS

The B.S/M.D. PROGRAM >>

F | 212.650.7708
E | Sdadmissions@med.cuny.edu

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT (P.A.) PROGRAM >>

F | 212.650.6697
E | PAprogadmissions

I am not familiar with the program, but I think that you have to file an application directly through City College.

Yeah, I know that. I was asking if listing a fall program as a top choice on a spring application could prevent the application from getting through to the other colleges listed on the application.

bump!

The best thing to do is to call CUNY in the morning!

What does the CUNY portal/ hotline say?

The portal website says, “Your admission application has been received and is currently under review. After submitting supporting documents, please allow 8-10 weeks for your application status to update. Items sent to CUNY/UAPC will not be returned. Visit www.cuny.edu/admissions/undergraduate/afteryouapply/docs-trans.html for more information.”

CUNY is probably still processing your application!

Did you call the hotline to see if it says the same. If so, speak to a representative and ask them if they have all your documents and what’s the status.

Did you apply as a Domestic Freshman or Transfer?

I applied Hunter and Baruch.

Ah, I thought they have all my documents. I haven’t asked them before.
I will call them today to make sure.

Also, it could be that the colleges didn’t make a decision yet!

From reading past post, colleges usually process transfer applicants first.

I am not sure if you applied as a freshman or transfer?

I applied as a transfer student.
I just e-mailed to admissions@cuny.edu.

great!

If you want to, you can also give Hunter and Baruch a call to get an update.

Did you hear any update from your listed colleges?

yes, my portal says:

Your application is complete.
An admissions decision has been made by the college(s) listed on your application.
You will receive notification from only one college choice shortly.

Also, called the hotline:
The hotline says you will receive a decision from “Queens College.”

On Monday 3rd I gave Queens College admissions office a call and the person asked for my SS# and said I got accepted and I just need to wait for the admissions email.

No email yet!

Your portal message is different with me…
Seems my application is not completed yet.
I hope I will get some feedback from admissions soon…

All other people also see that message on portal?

Like,
“Your application is complete.
An admissions decision has been made by the college(s) listed on your application.
You will receive notification from only one college choice shortly.”

Before my portal updated to a decision has been made, it said the same thing as your’s “please allow 8-10 weeks for your application status to update.”

So I would wait a little. I know it’s probably driving you crazy and that sucks big time, Waiting is killing me too.

Just to let you know, I applied really early (June) and waited 3 months for an update, but I think you should get an update late this month or early in November (Guessing).
