Hey guys! I applied for the spring 2019 semester! If you’re also applying, then feel free to be a part of this thread too!!
I will apply if i have a shot
Honestly go for it. They may wait until the end of the semester to make a decision though. I currently have a 2.63 and will have a 2.8 if I do well. They take people with 2.7’s. How many credits do you have? I may not have the perfect GPA, but I won’t know if I try. You should go for it if you know you can do well this semester
I sent in my application yesterday. I didn’t make it in for fall. But I significantly brought up my gpa last semester, so I’m hoping I have a better shot.
I have over 50 credits, and I spoke with someone explaining my situation and they said they’ll look at my improvements this semester. I’m going to give the spring a shot. Good luck!
I honestly think it will work out for you this time around! Keep us posted in this thread!
@anxioustransfer1 I’m glad to hear that! I’m in a similar predicament as well. I have 66 credits and some of those are from Rutgers. You should definitely give it a shot!
Good luck, I’ll keep you guys posted!
@anxioustransfer1 yes! I wouldn’t stress about it for a while. When I got in for spring 2018 last year, I heard back on November 3rd. It was one of the happiest days of my life. This year I noticed that they are notifying applicants earlier (by December 1st). Getting rejected a couple of times was disheartening, but this school is amazing and worth the wait. Hoping that you will be joining the Rutgers fam very soon, best of luck! And do NOT stress out
Hi! Does anyone know if it matters how many credits you have? I was originally at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where I earned a low GPA of a 3.2 and had to take a medical withdrawal. My medical problems significantly impacted my academics. Also I’m now taking classes at Bergen Community College. I’m hoping I get in for the spring 2019 semester, however Im nervous that I don’t have a chance.
I will have a total of 23 credits only.
@tagreen348 You’re prob anxious about the process and that’s fine, but spamming every single thread on this forum with slightly different versions of the same post is not necessarily the best idea…
To answer your question, I don’t know how much credits matter, unless you’re getting a degree or trying to be considered a transfer instead of a freshman. You should seriously ask admissions this question b/c it varies on a case by case basis.
All I know is that having at least a 3.0 and no D’s or F’s in the last 10 credits is the bare minimum for admission (to SAS). A 3.2 is not that low and is in the middle 50% average for transfer admits.
Also if you’re taking appropriate classes, that’s good. They don’t want to see too many remedial courses
Has anyone heard back yet? I know it’s a little early and all, but I still can’t stop checking the portal
@rutgerstransfer1998 nothing yet, I keep checking as well.
When I applied for fall I didn’t hear back until the last day of decisions. It killed me. I hope it doesn’t happen again.
I haven’t heard anything yet. It is still very early, my guess is December 1st the portal will be updated
Yeah it does seem very early. Looked at last year’s thread and people mostly started to hear back
I was on Reddit today and someone heard back. They were admitted
@rutgerstransfer1998 if it’s the same post I saw they have a 4.0 gpa with 30 credits. Which probably is an automatic in.
It’s great to see people start getting answers. All I do is check the portal.
Yeah that was def a guaranteed admission. Someone on here also heard back but it was a rejection. Now I’m very scared. I keep checking the portal and I’m afraid I’m gonna get rejected any day now.
Just checked my portal. I was rejected guys
