Spring 2019 transfer thread

They said that there’s no way for them to tell since it depends on “courses taken in high school, placement test results, language taken in high school etc.” They also said they would need an official transcript, which was already on file for my application. I’m in state too, so I guess I shouldn’t worry as much, but I don’t want 15 credits to go to waste.

I think I might just enroll, and see what happens with the evaluation and go from there.

That is really not helpful at all. I guess it’s just a waiting game.

I figured, while $150 is a lot, I would rather hold my space and access enrollment pathways than wait to find out more information.

Yea, you have a good point, I think that’s the best option at this point.

Congrats to all of you. I still haven’t heard anything back

If you haven’t heard back yet, based on your gpa and grade history, they will either let you know in the last day or they are probably waiting on your final grades to make a decision this semester

Hi! I was admitted into the school Of Engineering as a ChemE. I haven’t gotten an award letter yet, is it worth it to enroll just to see my credit eval? I am deciding between Stevens IT or Rutgers
Im transferring from Brookdale CC in NJ, so from what i can see on the njtransfer website, they accept about half of my credits, Im not sure if it’ll be any different once i am accepted just because i will have my associates in Chemistry from BCC and the nj transfer agreement assures all my credits are transferred.

I could be wrong bc it was spring 2018 when I was originally admitted but google “Rutgers New Brunswick credit evaluation” and see if u can log in. Also I think you only get your fin aid award letter when you submit all of the documents

Hey guys!
I found out today that I was admitted to Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences, and R Sebs. I am really excited but at the same time sad. I am missing Chemistry 2 and Precalculus to finish my associate (both classes required for my major), I don’t know if take them at Rutgers or stay another semester at my community college. If I stay another semester I cant take more classes because it would be considered as over credit, so that means that I will be part-time for the spring semester.

Shall I stay another semester or transfer in spring?

**For those that might get rejected for spring, keep working hard. I was rejected twice because I have Math and English remedial classes and my GPA is 3.3.

Unfortunately I got denied :frowning: . As much as it’s upsetting, It’s not a surprise to me. I’ll use it as motivation to make sure I do very well and get in for the fall 2019. Thanks for all your help guys!

Happy thanksgiving guys!

I’ve enrolled, but I can’t find where to pay the $150 deposit, does it take a few days to appear or am I just not looking in the right places?

@anxioustransfer1 I’m so sorry. I hope you do apply for Fall! I’m sure if you kill it with grades this semester and next you will get in! Keep us updated!

@flyingsquirrels I’m not sure why it didn’t have you pay. On my application status screen it had a “accept” button that brought me to a pay page. I don’t think enrollment pathways will open if you don’t pay? I’m sure sure.

@dwtransfer of course I would have this luck. It says “admitted and enrolling”, and it shows the $150 charge as needing to be paid, but nowhere to do it. Guess I’ll be calling them on Monday!

@flyingsquirrels that’s really frustrating. It sucks to wait until Monday, but I’m sure it’s an easy fix!

Also, I am super nosy, what is everyone’s prospective major?

@dwtransfer I am bio, but I hate it so much, so I’m going into education and maybe English or some other social science? Idk yet

I’m so sorry. I totally thought they were going to wait for you fall grades to make a decision. At least you’re optimistic about it.
The fact that they didn’t give you a chance is really making me afraid to appeal my rejection. But I mean what’s another rejection at this point

It may take a few days to update. If it doesn’t by Monday at 11am, I would definitely call them.

@flyingsquirrels I understand! I did bio for a year because I thought it was more practical, but I hated it.

@rutgerstransfer1998 I wish they waited to see my grades, and it will be unfortunate to have to wait until fall 2019 :frowning:

If you do very well, I’d say it can’t hurt sending them your grades. It probably won’t change anything and you’ll have to wait like me, but I think it’s always worth a try if you have a reason. If you managed to get this far without giving up, keep at it and don’t give up on your dreams
