Spring Admission by choice?

Hi all. I got accepted to USC for the Fall Semester of 2008. My question is whether or not I can "choose" to start on the Spring Semester. Then I would actually have some time to earn some money and I would only have to pay for one semester. And if I can, how would the housing work?

I emailed USC on wednesday, but didn't get an answer yet. I'm gonna call on monday, but I just want to see if anybody has any idea. Thx!

I'll switch spots with you?!?!

I am certain that you could get an answer much quicker by calling them.

wow i've never heard of this!! Don't worry USC is pretty efficient, they'll reply in two business days.

If I HAD been admitted for fall I was actually thinking of doing this so I could get some financial stuff in order. I'm interested in seeing how this turns out.

haha, I wish I could trade with sourkrause45..

You guys laugh...Don't be so sure you couldn't switch....What is the underlying reason for Spring admit anyway? Housing? Class size restrictions? It's a long shot, but it only costs a dime to call and ask.....

Are you both in A&S??? Are you both male/female/?? Who knows...Call and ask......

eh.. i just called my admissions counselor and she say i can't. I really don't see why not though. I know a lot of spring admits who wants to start in fall and i want to start in spring.. oh well..

okay. so i emailed them several weeks ago, and their answer was different than what the USC admission counselor told me. Apparantly, I can fill out an "USC Admission Application Update Request Form."

it says,

"An application update is not a guarantee of re-admission but rather arequest that your original application be evaluated for admission to asubsequent term"

Does this mean if i get rejected for the spring semester, i can't even go during fall? Does anybody know anything about this application?

You would not be able to start in spring unless you "deferred admission" and had a COMPELLING admission. Spring admission is normally offered to students who they don't have enough room to accommodate logistically on campus in the fall semester.
