I was waitlisted by NJIT and eventually admitted for the spring term of 2019. My admission was, according to the letter I received, contingent upon completion of at least 9 credits at a community college for the fall. I had to take a math class, an English class, and one more of my choosing. I also had to maintain a cumulative GPA of a 2.5. Unfortunately I failed my math class and will most likely receive a B- and B+ in my other 2 classes. My GPA isn’t looking even close to the 2.5 that was “required”. What I want to know is since it’s basically like I’m being admitted to the school again is that 2.5 maintained GPA something that has to be met exactly or can it be lower. I don’t think it really matters because regardless I failed a class and won’t receive the credits I need for it. I’m contemplating not even sending NJIT my semester transcript because I don’t want to be told I can’t go when I feel I already know I can’t. So is it worth sending my transcript or should I just forget about it and dwell on how I failed to take advantage of an opportunity to go to my top choice school?
