I know a guy who transferred after only one semester at st. pete college.

It seems like the closer it gets to Sept 15 the more time slows down. I completed my transfer application for Spring 09 about 4 months ago. It's been hard to sleep since then...I am so nervous. I just want to be a gator so badly! I really wish I could have transfered before the budget cuts. It would have made the situation a lot less stressful. But it should only be a couple of weeks now. Oh yeah, my status page hasn't changed (still says "your application has been transfered to the college..a decision should be made soon..)

Anyways, here's my stats:

Current School: Central Florida CC
Intended Major: Computer Science - College of Engineering
GPA: 3.25
Preprofessional GPA: 3.64
Total Credits: 76
*Will receive my AA at end of Fall.
*Strait A's last three semesters (11 courses, 35 credits)

Good luck to everyone! Please let us know when you receive your decision!

Gator2008, please post your stats...

UF is only taking transfers from people with an AA degree (60 credits) now. No less. And on top of that, certain majors will only accept transfer students from florida community colleges. So I would check your major's new policies, because a dream of transferring to UF may be shattered if you aren't currently in a community college.

No guarantees for every major at UF for the transfers either. Santa Fe College will no longer be a backdoor into UF according to rescent press-releases.

right, warrington is the only guaranteed transfer in with a 3.7 ppgpa

AA from MDC 3.75
60 credits

pre professional gpa 3.8

applying to CLAS-psych major

I'm sure you'll get in

Definately the kind of qualifications I like to see in the transfer students. You deserve to get in, but it's hard to give a definite answer with CLAS. With the budget cuts, and CLAS's 5-year plan it's hard to be sure.

Best of luck

wats there 5 year plan...this is my 2nd time applying because the first time i didnt have all the preprofessional courses..specifically just one..so i think im goin to break down if i get rejected twice

my other option is UNC and UM

I applied for Spring as an accounting major but because I did not have calculus for business completed, I was rejected. I got a letter in the mail that told me to apply for the Fall 09 term. Forget that I am not taking a semester off! I got into FSU so I am just going to go there. Besides FSU gives scholarship money for Phi Theta Kappa members.

Anyway, here are my stats,
AA accounting from FL CC
4.0 professional GPA
3.79 GPA
Deans list, presidents list, Phi theta Kappa

same thing happened to me which is y i looked into UNC

kr007 u glad u went to fsu???

bumppppppppppp

I called the CISE dept at UF CoE the other day. They had some good news and some bad news for me..

The good news: They should have a decision for me within about a week.

The bad news: They only have two spots open for transfers!

So things are not looking very good for me! Two spots, are you freaking kidding me? I can only hope that my competition is really weak, but its probably not...I hate budget cuts!
