I am attending Berkeley as a spring 2012 admit (booooooo) and i was wondering if i can still enroll in the summer 2011 freshmen edge program. Can I take any summer program at Berkeley then?
If not, I am planning on taking classes at UCLA. Credits are transferrable right?
I am in the FPF program too if that helps.
Thanks!!

I’m sure you can. I mean, all students regardless of where they are from are allowed to attend the summer session so most likely yes unless they have some strange policy.

I HIGHLY recommend freshman edge. You will make the best of friends, get to go places outside of Berkeley, and just familiarize yourself with Berkeley and SF. Note that the summer session is VERY different from the regular school year.

General summer courses at Cal, yes you can take them.

Freshmen Edge, a special program, is less clear. The web site is ambiguous about this. At one point it says this is for students admitted for Fall, but every other place it only mentions that eligibility depends on having submitted a SIR as an incoming freshman.

Why not email them at summeredge@berkeley.edu to get a firm answer?

I’m also a spring admit and I’m considering the program… any updates?

I answered this on another thread, but yes, apparently you can.

I attended an info session during Cal Day, and they basically said the only difference is payment. Since you’re not enrolled as a Cal student, you pay what visiting students pay (which is a little more).
