I got into berkeley for the spring semester. I am debating whether to do their fall extension program.
The complication is that I took/am taking all my classes at a community college during senior year of high school. This means that by the end of this year, I will be done with all my general ed requirements.
If I do the FPF program, then will I be able to take major prerequisites? My major is bioengineering. As far as I can see, they offer only the GE courses with that program but I read on the web page that they make special exceptions.

So, will it be worth it to do this program or should I take classes at the community college?

Bioengineering REQUIREMENTS:

You can always contact an advisor on the Berkeley campus to discuss major requirements coinciding with the Fall Extension program, and most likely you can petition for placement in on-campus classes not provided by Fall Extension (such as BioE 10, CS 61A, etc.); it's common for students in Fall Extension to petition for Math 53 for example, which isn't provided by FPF. Contact Berkeley to get exceptions for your major in FPF; FPF overall is highly recommended, because most classes are concentrated in a converted seminary building by the Unit 2 residence halls, making class arrangement quite easy for first semester (also worth noting that a Fall Extension student on average has a higher first semester GPA than a standard Fall admit).
