Spring Admits Fall decision?

and what are the majors of people who got moved up? im in marshall and praying i get moved but idk if there are even any spots open…

they called me on my house phone and my major is also business

I got moved to fall. They called my house phone. I’m also a business major.

oh okay and what time did you find out exactly? do you think theres still hope of me getting in?

blondedon37, you are ALREADY “IN!” Even if you don’t get a call today, you are still a Trojan!!! So there is no “bad” news today, just “good” news (starting USC in Spring), and “really good” news (starting USC in Fall).

very trueee alamemom so thank you  let me rephrase my question then…do you think there is still a chance of me getting really good news about marshall school of business?

like others Son was called on house phone at 1:40 pacific time–Congratualtions to those moved up as well as those that will become Trojans in the spring— it is all good (ok GREAT!)

i am CLAS- undecided too… i really hope I get the spot. I would love to go to USC in the fall instead of the spring

ill pray for you keevwu if you pray for me hhahah fingers crossed…hopefully there will be more calls 2mrw

haha i got you blondedon

i got moved from spring to fall today my counselor called my home phone i am in the marshall school of business

I received “the call” a couple hours ago as well and I’m in Marshall. Does anybody know when we have to submit our housing application? Are we going to be in dorms with other freshmen? Also, can we still purchase football tickets?

the admissions counselor told D. that a new packet would be sent out tomorrow with all the info, including info on football ticket purchases. She also said that the housing hadn’t been completely sorted out, so yes, there should be housing available. (hopefully!!!)

It sounds like only Business and Undecided majors have been moved up so far. It might be that those are two of the very few programs that had spots open. BUT there could be A LOT of factors here… such as location (students from different regions of the country have different counselors, or different majors are assigned different counselors) It could be that not all counselors have made their calls. Also, USC might have only determined some, not all, of the students who will be bumped to fall. It would make sense because only two or three majors have been bumped up so far.

Only time will tell… to those of you disappointed by not getting calls today, remember that YOU ARE IN ALREADY  You will graduate w/ a USC degree. The freshmen classes are often huge sizes anyway so it’s not like they’ll be great… you can get GEs out of the way at cc or at another university. Fall classes start in late August and end in December, so that’s less than 4 months of “missing out” on the freshman experience. There are lots of spring admits, you will meet them all at spring orientation, and you will meet lots of other students when you get there.

So go and do something worthwhile w/ fall semester, don’t worry about getting a call or not.

I could be completely wrong about this, but it could also just be that since Business and Undecided are essentially the 2 largest “majors”, they had everything sorted out the quickest. A few here and there won’t make as much of a difference when there are hundreds of students vs a program like screenwriting where they cap everything (students in the program, students per class, etc).

I’ve now heard of at least a couple more majors that were moved up. Theatre and International Relations. But most are business or undecided so far.

and now I’m also hearing that if you didn’t get a phone call yesterday, you were not moved up to fall. But that could change w/ the “summer melt” - some students could have double-deposited at USC and somewhere else and will choose to go somewhere else. Also some might opt to defer one year. But there likely will be very few more who are moved up.

Does that mean no more calls to be moved up?

ninjadavid64 yes that’s what it means. I have heard from 3 sources that admissions counselors have confirmed it, if you didn’t get a call yesterday you are still a spring admit. They still might move a couple of people up during the summer, but no more calls for now.

What SabrinaFairchild posted matches our info from an admissions counselor today. Some majors, like engineering, apparently had no openings. Sounds like there will be calls to Spring admits in the next couple weeks confirming that they are Spring/not Fall admits and that more detailed info will be coming soon about next steps. Guessing overall there weren’t that many openings. If anybody hears that number, would appreciate seeing a post about it.
