I was admitted for the spring 2012 freshman class. Although this is not the ideal situation, I'm trying to remain positive about being given the opportunity to study at UF (even if I begin school months later than most other freshmen). Since starting in the spring means that I have months August through December completely open, I am wondering what I should do - spend one semester at Santa Fe, get a job, or just take some time off??? And I'm curious what the rest of you spring freshmen are planning to do? :)

I too was admitted for the spring 2012 freshman class. Although it’s not what I wanted I’m still choosing to go o UF. So from aug-dec I will be taking a few classes at my local community college. What I’m wondering is if we will still be considered for housing…?

I was admitted to the spring class my freshman year. I went to Santa Fe for the fall, I wanted to be involved with Gainesville and know my way around before starting at UF. I have friends who worked and didn’t come in with any credits, and some who just stayed home and took classes at a community college. You are still considered for on campus housing, you will receive info on that later. However, if you are dead set on living off campus i highly recommend just moving to gainesville and working/taking classes. I moved into my apartment in the fall and I later found out that some apartments who do allow you to move in, in January, they jack up your rent to kind of make up for the money they lost because you moved in so late.

I’m just going to get a job. :)
