Any others of you out there? It sort of sucks.

Yupp spring admit over here! January will be here before you know it

Are we on waitlist for the fall? I heard some get bumped up…

Hi, CUSDREAMER! I’m one of you guys! Actually, I’m still extremely happy!!! USC is my dream school and I don’t expect that I can get in unless there is a magic. So even though I was admitted as a spring admitted student, I’m still satisfied. I just don’t know what should I do during the first semester to graduate on time. Will you go to a CC to take some classes?

Oh I’m sure it’s better than being rejected!

Why are you guys too upset? Is Spring Admit really bad?

Nope just a spring admit!! My friend got admitted to the fall program through supported centered program

Spring admit is a great thing. You can get some classes out of the way at CC (just make sure they will transfer) and save some money. YOU GOT IN!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! It is very common. A couple years ago at my D’s high school there were 4 boys that were spring admits to Berkeley. There was a program there that they could actually live on campus and take a couple classes. Maybe USC has the same thing. Call them, you never know. I hear this sort of thing happens on many campuses. No worries. You guys are a select group. Celebrate this :)

Hey spring admits. Congrats. Seriously, congrats…If you really want USC, this is a minor inconvenience. My son was a spring admit for last year, he went to CC in the area (santa Monica CC) and lived in Gateway right with all the other USC students. All SA students in his dorm room. He made a huge group of spring admit friends, who are all in the same boat and who are all very close, even now that they are in the big dance. He’s LOVING USC and never regrets his decision for one second. Know that you are not “less than” for getting this decision. His fellow spring admits were amazing students, that were getting into killer colleges everywhere…UCLA, Berkeley, Texas, etc, etc. USC is a killer hard school to get into now, and if the So-Cal big school trojan thing is what you want you should really consider doing it. Go to Facebook, there are big communities there each year of students who are SA students. They will give you the reall down low on what it is all about. My son did not miss a thing as a freshman being there. He went to all the games, wore the red and gold, hung with friends and had a very normal freshman year. Because he had to work a little harder I think it actually meant even more to him when he started classes. He’s doing incredible and dad is liking going to several big games every year. Mostly liking his kid have a great college experience. So, while it might not be EXACTLY what you expected, I just want you to know that it can and often does work out to be EPIC. It’s all about attitude and desire to be there and to be a Trojan. If you want it, it’s worth it!

Hi boquist1! I’m a spring admit. And I’m going to take some classes in a CC in the fall. I wonder how did you son know what classes he should take in the CC. Also, did he live on campus after he went to USC? I heard that the housing is not guaranteed to spring admits.

Our D was a spring admit transfer student and is graduating in cinema in just a few months. She was fine with getting courses out of the way at CC. She consulted USC before registering every term of CC to be sure credits would be accepted.

Definitely send in that yellow card if you want to go to USC. My D was a spring admit last year, disappointed but got her head around it and was figuring out what she would do in the fall (not community college, she would have traveled or worked). Less than 6 weeks later she got the call with an invitation to move up to fall matriculation. Which of course she happily accepted.

The chances of being moved up to fall seem to depend on major. My D was/is in Dornsife. She has a friend who was a spring admit to Marshall who was not moved up.

I’m actually really happy that I got into USC, even if it IS spring admission.
I’m just waiting on my financial aid package…If it’s sufficient enough I’ll be able to attend!!
I’ll probably just work and go to a CC in the fall. I mean, the end result is the same right? A degree from USC! so awesome :)

I was a spring admit two years ago but now I realize that it was the best thing that ever happened to me! Be happy and proud that you are now part of the Trojan Family :)

Once you are at a USC you will forget that you started a semester after everyone and no one will care that you are a spring admit. Feel free to private message me or ask me questions.

I’m definitely going!!! I just found out on my portal though, not a packet. Can someone tell me about the options? I can be waitlisted for fall? If I don’t get in for fall I still want to live on campus, is that an option?

Can you rush (greek life) the fall semester even if you’re a spring admit?!

As a spring admit, I believe that you are automatically placed on a waitlist for fall admission within your respective school (Viterbi, Dornsife, etc). Usually only a few people get bumped for fall admission. Although you can’t live on campus during the fall semester, you do have the option of living at Gateway which is independent of USC. For the spring semester you may be placed in an on-campus dorm.

Rushing during the fall may be possible but I don’t really know.

Our D lived in Gateway and enjoyed it there. It’s very close to campus, pretty new, and run by USC housing. There is a CVS right next to it as well as eating places and a small grocery.

Yo I’m so happy to be in period!!!

I wouldnt have it any other way…I’ll still be at the games and wearing my stuff proudly!!

Signed and committed right now!!

TROJAN BABY! no other way man, no other way!!

And think about it, you are saving money=/

viterbi, What did you do during the fall semester before you went to USC in the spring?
If you don’t mind me asking.
