Going to Panama City Beach, FL with a group of 5 friends for Spring Break and was wondering which are the best hotels/location to stay at in terms of beach parties/clubs/ and just overall great location to be at??

The hotels all along the beach are pretty expensive and are well booked in advance. I went there last year with 4 friends and we stayed at a hotel about 20 minutes from the beach. Granted it costs us only $50 a person because my friend’s uncle owned the hotel but those are going to be much more cheaper than the ones on the strip. The only downside to our location was getting there and parking our car. I kinda wished our hotel was on the beach though because that’s where all the crazy is. Honestly though, if you have the money to spend, get a hotel near the beaches. (< than 5 minutes away). Panama City is a once in a lifetime thing…seriously. Yeah it’s fun as hell but after one week you never wanna go back there…

Yeah I heard the hotels near the beaches were the ones to stay at, but I also heard anywhere near the Holiday Inn is a good place. I just want to make sure I stay where most of the beach parties or people are going to be at, also what do you mean you may never want to go back?

I’m a parent who has taken my younger kids down to panama city around spring break.
We have stayed at the holiday inn on the beach at various times probably 3 or 4. First off it is a zoo down there around spring break time. I can not imagine renting a hotel that wasn’t on the beach. I think it would be a pain just getting to and from the hotel/beach. and yes the kids all come around the holiday inn. Be warned though that they do have some restrictions on the age of kids being able to rent the rooms. Not sure exact age might be 21? anyway I’ve been in line behind some kids that had trouble checking in without someone over whatever the age is.

I’m not sure why the above poster wouldn’t want to go back but my husband doesn’t want to go back during spring break because most of the college kids are really drunk at all times of the day…
