My friends and I have started to think about spring break plans for '08 just so we have plenty of time to take care of stuff like passports, reservations, getting good deals, etc if need be. However, we're pretty overwhelmed as things seem to change weekly. This is our second year in college, so we really want to go to a beach/warm place to get away from the stress/coldness of March in VA. So, how should we go about this? When should reservations be made? Should we go through something like Expedia or Travelocity? Also, how do we get around the whole "21+ must check you in"? Where are top locations to go to that arn't ridiculously expensive?

see if there is an STA Travel center in your area or go to statravel.com they specialize in discounts for students and student groups. they are the people who organize the Real World trips (or they used to anyway, i havent watched that show for a couple years). you'll get cheap flights, hotels, can make a loose itinerary, they'll point out some cool things to see/do in your destination that you may not think about

Maybe try a travel agent? I think we got a pretty good when my mom used a travel agent from AAA insurance.

Cruises are usually really good deals... I went on a 4 day cruise this past SB for $400 with food 24 hour availability and GOOD food at that! We went to a private island, the Bahamas and Key West. We went on on Royal Caribbean and if you're 18 or older then you have no problems. If you want to drink, you should find a cruise to mexico, etc... if you buy this early, you may get pretty good deals through their website or any cruiseline actually, good luck! I had the best vacation ever this year, hope you find something that works for you!

Ah, I thought Royal Carribb. was 18+, but you still had to have a 21+ check you in. That's what's really holding us back from doing an easy cruise.
