How does spring class registration work? Are the students given a specific window or do all current students register at the same time? When is the schedule of classes usually available before that time?

The online academic calendar says that the schedule of classes will be available in YES on Monday, October 14. I don’t know how students are scheduled to register. I just know I’ll encourage my son to be at the computer and ready to register when his window opens up.

Each class (year) is divided into two groups. They alternate between the first and second enrollment window throughout their time at Vanderbilt. Enrollment is open to each group for 24 hours.

Open enrollment occurs after all groups across all years have had their day.

Hopefully that makes sense.

Thanks Go9ersjrh and Pancaked

I just looked for a link on the Vanderbilt site laying this out but couldn’t find one. Can anyone actually register starting tomorrow or can they just put classes in their cart?

Registration isn’t until the end of the month. You should be able to see the class schedules starting tomorrow and putting them in your cart.

On the student’s YES page, it will indicate the dates when he or she can actually register for classes. The course catalog is available now, so he or she can begin looking through the courses and adding them to the cart to weed out later. On the first day of registration, the items in the cart will be available for registration. You can add or remove things from the cart as you like and, even after registration, you can add or remove things from the schedule as you see what is available and firm things up.
