Spring class schedules are out

Schedule of Classes - Spring 2011: Office of the Registrar: Indiana University Bloomington

Nice! When will I be able to add to my shopping cart?

toffa, while you can look at the Spring schedule of classes now, I don’t believe that you will be able to add them to your shopping cart until after you have been assigned a registration appointment time.

Early Registration using OneStart Student Center begins for all currently enrolled (Fall 2010) students according to scheduled appointments. (Individual student appointments are reflected at OneStart Student Center at https://onestart.iu.edu). Watch your Student Center page to find out when your appointment is scheduled to occur. It should be listed fairly soon, although as a freshman, don’t be surprised if your appointment isn’t until November.

Registration appointments for spring 2011 will occur between Th Oct 21 - F Nov 19.

Just found out its November 20th for me, which is rather late and I’ll basically have the last pick of classes, right? I only have 13 credits because of A100.

So, I’ve started adding things to my shopping cart, and right now I have: K201, M119, W131, CJUS-P100, and POLS-Y103. And I have to say, the discussion times for Y103 suck. Its either past 4:30 T/W/R or early on a friday. The one I plan on taking is 4:40 on Wednesday and the room is listed as ARR. Where is that/what does that mean?

That Nov 20 date is no doubt wrong, because my son is a junior and has the same date. It is a little early for the exact date to come up.

This semester’s hours don’t have anything to do with your place in the line, as only completed hours on your transcript count. If you have any credit for AP test scores, language placement, or maybe community college classes you might have taken before coming to IU these will be counted and move you up in the line. Having a few credits on your transcript now will keep you from being in a tie for the worst times with freshman who have zero credits.

ARR means the room will be determined and show up later on the schedule. One of the Wed 4:40 discussion sections for Y103 has been determined and is in Teeter F260. My son took it at that time and room last spring, and since he lives in central neighborhood, it was very convenient for him despite the odd ball time. Bianco is the best prof for Y103 by far. Last spring his section’s gpa was 3.065, while Barbour’s was 2.246. Same course with same level of students but huge difference in the grades.

Ok cool thanks. One of my high school teachers claimed that you shouldn’t take less than 15 credits or you get screwed over when registration rolls around. Unfortunately I don’t have any credits coming in.

I figured that’s what it meant. I’m in McNutt, which unfortunately doesn’t hold any K201 classes (except one discussion, but that conflicts with the W131 in McNutt I think). I guess I should switch into the Teter one since I doubt the other one would be closer. If I had to guess it would be in Woodburn, Ballentine, or Willkie like most of the others.

Where do you go under Student Center to find when your appointment is scheduled?

The times have not been assigned yet. Go to OneStart and click on “Student Center”; when Student Center opens, your time will be displayed in the “Enrollment Dates” box on the right. They probably will be assigned pretty soon, but they are not up yet. Most freshman will probably register November 15-19.

Dates are now updated; I can register Nov 15th at 10AM
