@ptklll I know that but I am transferring to UTSA this summer to take bio 1 and chem 1, I just want to try and see but if they don’t accept me then I’ll try again to transfer for spring 2017. By then I’ll have both Chem 1 and 2 and Bio 1 and Physic one and calculus 2. Would they consider the summer classes I take?
Could someone PLEASE chance me?

Anybody know when they tell you if you got accepted or declined as a transfer? I submitted my complete application last week. Thanks
@iDontGetBs anywhere from March to July, depends on the college
Hi Guys, I currently attend San Jac.
I have a 3.5 GPA
I’m looking to Transfer into Cockrell as ME
Second choice mathematics, i’m not sure if I should choose another type of Engr.
I have about 60-63 hours. I will have an associates.
I’ve took all Calculus, chem, Uni Physics, Linear Algebra, DEQ, as well as all other basics.
I have some community service, I work, and I’m also part of Phi Theta Kappa
I would say essay topic A is strong, topic C I’m working on it.
thank you!
@nloz79 well, I think for Mechanical Engineering, at least you need 3.8 GPA. keep Math as your second major, and also you meant topic E right? because topic C is not required for Eng. And also if you have mostly A s in technical courses, you might have a chance.
Hey @whlockett,do you remember when you received your decision for your transfer application, I am applying for fall 2016
Hey! I was wondering if anyone knew when to expect a decision from UT regarding Fall 2016 transfer applicants. Like around March-April? what has been yalls past experiences? thanks!
@2016falltransfer Im applying for fall 2016 also, I based my answer of off what Ive seen other people say on here, I recommend you find the Fall 2015 transfer thread and just search “accepted” you should be able to filter through that and find when people were accepted
Could someone please tell me my chances

When applying to cockrell, is it better to put another engineering major or a science major? I’ve found different info/advice online.
Hello all, I’m currently finishing up my last semester at a community college in Texas and planning on transferring to the University of Texas at Austin. My GPA is currently a 3.94 out of 4 due to one B that I made in a dual credit class in high school. My first choice is the Jackson School of Geosciences. I am currently taking Calc 2 and Engineering Physics 1. I have completed Chemistry 1 and 2 and have received all A’s in the courses I have taken at my community college. I have two letters of recommendations, one from my geology professor and one from my physics professor. Thing is I don’t have that many EC’s, I just work 20 hours a week at a country club. I was wondering if anyone knows if UT Austin will be a good place for me and what are my chances of getting in? By the time I transfer I should have 60 credit hours.
I really appreciate any thoughts! Thanks!
Also if you’re applying for summer, feel free to post your stats:)
@shia1516 what is your back up because Chem E is probably the hardest major to get into as a transfer, i have had friends who got rejected with 3.97s and etc. so your chances for chem E don’t look to good tbh. Average cockrell transfer GPA is around a 3.8+ so id recommend getting it up or have a decent back up major.
@eternalRobot depends on what your first choice engineering major is? and how high is your GPA? if its above a 3.9+ id say go with putting another engineering major, if not id say go with a science
@MyLonghorn I have mech engineering as my first choice. I should still have a 4,0 at the end of spring. Right now i have electrical as my second. I would have math second, but I don’t think that will get me where i want to go career-wise.
@MyLonghorn any thoughts on my situation? I understand not many people know about Jackson. Thanks!
Thank you I appreciate your response, my second major is Mechanical engineering
@bealonghorn Thank you I appreciate your response, my second major is Mechanical Engineering.
