Spring/Fall 2017 Transfer thread

Feel free to posts stats, classes taken/taking, university or community college you’re attending and what major/school in UT you’re planning on applying for!

Let’s all work as a team here!

I’m applying to UT Austin as a transfer from ACC/Texas State. I’m planning to attend their Computer Science program to pursue a bachelors in CS as well as a BS in Applied Mathematics. I have 10 years work experience (working currently), I’m a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and have a 3.85 GPA with 57 credits thus far. I’ve completed Cal 1 (A), Cal 2 (B), and Differential Equations (A). No sciences yet, but I’m taking Physics 1 next month at ACC. Hope I get in

Well that sounds pretty great! From what I know, CS is a bit overpopulated; but your stats look awesome.
Can any current UT students concur this opinion?

I’m applying to UT Austin for fall 2017.
I am currently at Brookhaven college in Dallas. 1st choice major: Moody college, Advertising.
2nd choice: COLA, undeclared.
I am at 28 hours right now but I will be at 42 when I send out my application in December.
4.0 GPA. Although, I don’t have much as far as volunteer work and extra curricular… I am working on that though and picking up more volunteer hours this fall.
Working on my essays now also!

I’m also at <30 credit hours! @RLOwen Make sure you remember that the application deadline is October 1st!

Awesome! The deadline is October 1st for Spring 2017 and March 1st for Fall 2017, correct? I am wanting to transfer in the fall. Are you applying for Spring @ssman512 ?

Also, I am wondering if I should wait until I have completed the 30 hours to apply (in December) or if I should go ahead and apply sooner? I know spots do fill quickly and the sooner, the better. However, I am not sure if that matters if you are below the 30 hour mark? Some advice would be appreciated, if anyone has the answers

@RLOwen I believe they don’t review your application until you submit your 30+ hours so I don’t think submitting before you get your fall grades will make a difference.

Are we not allowed to apply for undeclared as transfers? Because on the ApplyTexas application I don’t see the option. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

I want to do COLA undeclared. Should i put that as my first option?

If I am applying mid November and I am currently at 23 hours, will they not review my application until after the spring semester once I hit 30 hours?

@ut888888 Are you at 23 hours counting your fall credits?
