I'm a prospective transfer from UCSB and I just received a spring grade request. As some may know, we are on a quarter schedule and our winter quarter doesn't end until next week so grades will probably not be posted until end of March. Should I let USC know when to expect them? (I'm sure admissions already knows about the UC quarter schedule, but I just want to play it safe).

I also was hired for an internship next quarter. It seems like its a pretty competitive non paid internship that I receive college credit for. Should I let USC know of this and if so, how? Send an updated resume?

Thanks! Fight ON!

Bumping this, I swear I am invisible on this forum

Whats your major!? What school did you apply to? Stats? And did this letter come in the mail? Always better to let them know, it wont hurt. I would also send in a resume

I’m applying as a Mathematics major so I applied to College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. My stats aren’t outstanding and that is why I ask about my internship, and whether I should let USC know of my newly acquired position.

I did not yet receive a letter in the mail for Spring grade requests but my USConnect admissions document recently updated and now shows that it needs a UCSB transcript, which I am assuming are my Winter grades since I sent them a transcript after fall quarter.

I am pretty sure that they are just requesting your winter grades, I dont think that this is an SGR. But I’m fro UCSB too! Whats your GPA? Are you a freshman or a sophomore?

Which Major did you apply for??

I’m a soc major. Do you go to ucsb?

Ya it is my winter grades they’re asking for but I’m just wondering if I should let them know I’ll send them as soon as they are released.

But ya that’s really cool you’re applying too, Good luck! I’m a second year doing Econ/Math.

Whats your GPA if you dont mind me asking?

From the looks of these boards, it’s well below the average transfer gpa. I’m sitting at a 3.3 now but after this quarter it should be about a 3.4-3.5.

Ya I have around a 3.5 so I feel your pain. Are you trying to get in to marshall? do you think its bad that were both sophomores?

No, I’m just applying as a math major for the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. But idk, i hope it doesn’t matter! Im sure we’re fine and hopefully we’ll both be getting good news sometime soon…

Ya I know a few people that got in with 3.2s but they were sophomores. I feel like the selection process is so random

Really? That makes me feel a little better! they were sophomores applying as juniors?

Oh no I meant they were freshmen applying as sophomores.

O ok ya I don’t know how admissions selects. I don’t if they admit more incoming sophomores or incoming juniors. All I know is I need to ace these finals to improve my chance!

Have you taken any classes pass/ no pass?

ya I’ve taken two already and one this quarter. I know it’s not preferred, but do you think that’s bad?

I honestly have no idea. Ive taken a few also. I feel like they shouldnt hold that against us but who knows.
