For background, I just finished my freshman year of Aerospace Engineering at Southern California and have a 3.0 GPA, 3.9 major GPA (yeah I pay more attention in the engineering classes), and am in the Engineering honors program and in a film/communications honors program, one open to all majors, though the university's Institute for Mulitimedia .

A few days ago I recieved a pamphet from NYU (luckily, the flood of mail from them stopped after the application dedline senior year), about the Spring in New York program, and I must say I'm interested. I would have to reshedule my engineering class next spring, but I hope I could go to NYU and knock out PHYS III, differential equations, and a couple of GEs.

Has anyone done/know someone who has done/heard of this program? Is it really selective or kind of a joke to get into? Does NYU financial aid, i think (and it hopefully is) award need-based grants like USC, and would it for this program?

I am just thinking about this, and not even sure I will, depending on shedule/transferring credits/will I be able to row for NYU and rejoin USC's team when I get back, among others. But any information would be extremely helpful.

As for the LA-NY transition, I am from Montana, and I am sure I could handle it, as it cant be worse than moving to LA from home. Besides, I wouldn't mind having a real public transportation system to use.
