Well I'm making this thread because it would be fun to have a way to identify each other at Spring Insight (for those who are going). I personally don't have any good suggestions... So I was thinking that we can discuss and add possible ways to ID other CC'ers.

Thing's that I've heard of doing:
1. Make stickers
2. Write on our foreheads with Sharpies.

There's something that I thought would be a fun idea but would take some work to do, but it's really awesome when it works out, as we had to do this for a project before and it was a great way of being unique and attracting attention without looking weird. You basically create a custom-designed nametag and stick it on your clothes like a badge or stick it in a lanyard... put your CC username on it. I'll give an example if I can find one. To make it look good you would have to give it some good borders or backgrounds and write your username in some crazy (but legible) font, and do everything you can to make it look professional and cool.

...Just an idea, don't shoot me if you dislike it. You often see people wearing such designed badges at conventions (Otakon, DA based, etc. not that I go to them..)

So, anyone up for adding some good possibilities? Perhaps maybe 2 days before Spring Insight we can all vote on what we want to do or something. Then we can all come back after and talk about who we met and stuff..

Lamest thing that can happen is if nobody finds each other. :(

Kevin,

I remember talking with you about this the other night. I see you weren’t kidding about kickstarting up a thread to discuss the idea of allowing us to identify one another.

As fond as I am of my sharpie idea I get this feeling that some of our more confident and more insane inclined males would love to sharpie the crap out of their skin while the ladies would be less so.

On that note…

A custom-designed nametag could work anything that basically had something as simple as “CC: arckeya” would nail you out as a CCer. Naturally as you said we can color it up and background/border it so it looked almost… quaint as opposed to being some odd person with a white sticker.

And -on that note-… my artistic talents are severely lacking.

What if the CCers that want to meet up wore two rubberbands on their wrist? To take it even further we could make them rubberbands of a certain color.

Rubberbands are simple, easy to acquire and very inconspicuous for the self-concious folk! At the same time you won’t feel like a fool checking out every man and woman’s chest trying to find some nametag. Just glance at the wrist and then… “Hello, CCer? I’m ___”

wow, i like that idea. Rubber bands are also something we can get really quick ^^" for those of us that either suck at arts and crafts or just have no time for it. Although, i don’t think i would be say “Hi CC’er” though, seems kinda odd ^^"

I suppose you could always walk up to someone and slap them across the back of the head with your UCSB Spring Insight brochure and go, “Sup sup!” :D
