"Spring Insight Open House is a dynamic event that showcases what UC Santa Barbara has to offer to undergraduate students. Spring Insight programs are designed to inform prospective students and their families about the opportunities for academic and personal growth at UC Santa Barbara."

Does anyone know anything about this?? I live in Seattle, and I am wondering if it would be worth it to fly down for this thing... I've never been to Santa Barbara but after getting accepted I'd really like to come visit and see if I'd like to go there... any suggestions???

only fly out if you know that you are going for sure. These things are really fun and it gets you hyped up to go to college, they have tours, music, and food. I have never been to the UCSB one though but I went to the UCLA one last year with my sister.

I'm going but I live in SoCal like 2 hours away, which is a different story. But all the way from WASh. I don't know hmmm depends on the price of the plane ticket... but then again i am super frugal so i wouldn't pay for the gas to get there.

According to the information i recieved, UCSB expect propective students to be at the event and do have information sessions that can be useful for them.

I really want to check the place out but I dont know if going into the group will be a little awkward because everyone else is already a senior and accepted and I'm not.

Jlime, there will be ALL kinds of prospective students...Don't EVEN worry about it. A lot of juniors check out schools before they choose to apply. I'm a prospective transfer student and i'm going even though I'll be lost among high schoolers lol.

I would be going but I dont have enough time to give notice to my work for the day off. Instead, I think I will go to the transfer session thing they have in may.

Cali- Im strongly considering it, because Im pretty sure I want to change my major to something other than Poli Sci so that would allow me to get some pre-reqs out of the way and get used to the campus/meet people. PLUS, if I get screwed and dont get on campus housing for the fall, I could look for a place to live during the transitions program.

On the other hand, I was kinda looking forward to having no school this summer, something I havent had the luxury of for a few years now.

If I go to UCSB, then I'll suck it up and go to transitions. I think that it'll REALLY help meet people and find housing. Hopefully, I'll get housing for fall and won't have to worry about it...lol HOPEFULLY
