Spring Math 54: Hald vs. Lott

It seems that on rate my professors Hald is a pretty decent prof, but I couldn't find anything on John Lott. Has anyone ever had him for 54?

Another question.
For people who have had Hald for math:

Given his good ratings as a lecturer but with really difficult tests, is it worth taking him?
I’m down for having a great math prof (which I haven’t had any so far), but I don’t know about what I’ve heard about his grading (10% get A’s).

I don’t know anything at all about Lott, so I’m not sure if I should take my chances with him either.

Yea, who knows about Lott?

BUUMMMPPP…really want to know about this. I hate both lecture times so it doesn’t really matter in that aspect…ugh.

I’ve heard that Lott has a generous grading curve, but has never taught 54 before. I’ll be signing up for his classes.

where have you heard that from? what classes has he taught? well one of the math 1b profs this semester didnt have any ratings but apparently people like him ,so i dont think that means anything.

I think he’s taught upper div math before. Apparently this is the first time teaching 54 for the both of them. I’m signed up for Lott, hopefully he’s ok.

What’s with Discussion 13?

“Please contact Hugo Ramirez at hramirez@berkeley.edu before enrolling into this intensive discussion section. Also: F 9-10A, 230D STEPHENS”

Anyone know what it’s for?

i think it’s this special math discussion they have. they have one for frenkel this semester. it’s like an hour longer per week or something plus a really good GSI. idk if this is it though.
