Does anyone know if choosing to attend SOC entails having to go both Thursday and Friday (and Wednesday, if attending the ALANA program), or are you allowed to just go for one day?

I'm just asking because I'm not sure I'll be able to take three days off from school. Going just Friday would definitely be possible, though.

Sorry if this is a stupid question. Thanks!

Never mind, I got my answer!

Haha, sorry.

So we're allowed to go just one day?

I have to visit other colleges too and my school has a maximum number of college visit days.

Go here:

Does Wellesley give out travel grants for this event? I know many schools give those out for their prefrosh/orientation weeks.

Oh, and do our parents actually need to show up or can we go alone?

Cheeky, I'd contact the office about travel grants. As far as the parents attending, I can tell you that at the fall event for prospective students, there were a few ladies without parents. Just make sure you parents sign the release forms that Wellesley needs from them if you are planning to stay overnight. And do not forget to bring the forms with you. :)

Unless I can get some sort of travel grant i probably am not able to go :-/. but is anyone from the Chicagoland area that received an invitation to go downtown and meet other Wellesley acceptees going?

YEs to the post about me! im from chicago and will most likely be going to the chicago event!! hopefully will see u there

also someone asked about Wellesley providing transportation or paying for airfare:: they do i think for some people,, i guess it prob depends on ur income. In my decision packet i got a letter stating that i would be provided with free airfare.

above me

If you receive invitations to meet with your local alumnae club, I highly recommend accepting them! From what I understand the Chicago club is quite active, and the women I met were lovely.

is anyone else going to this event? i think i'm going to be dropped off wed evening and stay till fri evening.

From the 16th to 19th I'll be in Boston. I'm so excited to meet everyone. :)

I'll be there from the 16th to the 18th :D

Yay! How are you guys getting there? Are you coming alone/with your family?
and one last question, what was the list of stuff we have to bring along with us? :D

My parentals are coming with me. Since we live veeerrrry far away in the lovely state of Washington, we're obviously going to take a plane and then take the time to explore Boston a little bit.

And as for the list? Uhhhh sleeping stuff? xD Oh dear.

I'll be there from the 16 - 18th....coming alone.

I'll be there from the 16th to 18th as well! With my mom.

I've heard we should bring shower shoes if we're staying overnight. Hm.

really? does anyone have a list of what we're expected to bring cause I'm really not sure
