Is anybody thinking of going to Wellesley's Spring Open Campus in April?

I'm seriously trying to talk my parents into letting me go, but we live in Washington and it is during school so who knows.

Is anybody thinking of going to Wellesley's Spring Open Campus in April?

I'm seriously trying to talk my parents into letting me go, but we live in Washington and it is during school so who knows.

I was considering Wellelsey's spring open campus. That is, if it doesn't coincide with any other college visits that I might schedule. Can't wait till 5:00 p.m. on March 31st!

I've heard the open campus is really fun, and what sells a lot of girls to the school.

If I get in I'm definitely going!

Awesome, so wolfstarslasher, do you know what goes on during open campus? What do they have planned and do we get to stay over night on campus or do we have to stay at a hotel somewhere in Wellesley?

I would like the attend the spring open campus if I'm admitted. I'd also like to know more about the activities and whether or not we get to stay overnight. Does anyone know?

I really don't know that I'm going to go- I live in the dc-metropolitan area, and it's quite a trip up. Especially if the Wellesley open campus coincides with that of other schools. In all honesty, I'm waiting to hear from other schools before deciding. While I'm loving Wellesley, quite honestly, the all-female factor is still very prominent in my mind, and in not such a positive way... Thoughts, anyone?

Yeah I know about it. It lasts 2 days you get to stay overnight at Wellesley with a student. They have panels and other fun stuff that you get to go to to learn about Wellesley. It's supposed to be really fun.

I've heard rumors that they pay airfare too. I doubt it's for everybody, but still. Don't hold me to that!

Whoa, are you serious? That would be so awesome if they paid for airfare because if coming from the dc-metropolitan area is quite a trip, you can just imagine what'd it be like for me coming from Washington state. The farthest east I've gone is like, Ohio, so convincing my parents to make plans to go to Boston, especially since it's not during my spring break, might take some persuading. Although, I'm sure an airfare stipend would help!

Yeah, that would be great. Hopefully it's more than a rumor! ;)

But I was invited to a workshop for one of my intended majors at another uni I applied to, and they offered to pay half my airfare, which was awesome. So I guess it's not unheard of.

Does anyone know if waitlisted students are invited/allowed to go?

probably not

Yeah, this school that is in my state offered to pay for airfare for a visit, which is kind of strange since I wouldn't be leaving the state, but still really nice of them. (I mean, it's not like WA is that huge.)

I'm not sure about the waistlisted thing. I would suggest asking someone at Wellesley, but I'm assuming that you haven't been waitlisted yet so you're checking just in case. If this unfortunate event does happen, which I hope it doesn't since you seem like a cool person who really wants to go to W, then I wouldn't mind asking them for you since it would be kind of awkward asking them and them telling you no. I also remember how calling would be long distance for you, so I was just going to include this question in a quick email that I was going to write to a student. Let me know if you'd like me to do this.

Sure, that would be great.

Thanks so much! :)
