Statistics online with Megan Mocko is EXTREMELY easy. Everyone I know taking it (including myself) has an A...this is coming from someone who hates math.

Anyway, I'm thinking about taking:
CPO 2001 (Comparative Politics) with Uttaro
INR 3102 (US and World Affairs) with Nolan
CPO 3303 (Intro to Latin American Politics) with Jordan
SPN 2240 (i forgot what it's called...)

If there are any other poli sci majors out there, do you think that two upper level classes will be too much for a freshman to handle? I'm not sure what to expect. I've already finished all of my gen eds and all of my critical tracking courses (except for CPO 2001), so I just figured I'd take these. any input would be greatly appreciated! thanks! :)

do most students take four courses (12 credits) or 5 (15 credits)?

Right now I'm taking 14, some of my friends are taking 17 and some are taking 12. It all depends on the difficulty of your classes in a given semester, how many credits you came in with/ how many classes you HAVE to take (critical tracking, etc) that semester, and how quickly you'd like to graduate. For example, my best friend came in with 30 credits but is double majoring in aerospace and mechanical engineering (which typically takes 5 years to complete). Because she wants to graduate in 4 years, she's taking 15-17 credits per semester. I came in with 30 credits and am majoring in poli sci/ minoring in spanish (which typically takes 4 years to complete). Right now I'm considered a sophomore by credit hours and I don't want to graduate early, so I'm planning on taking approx. 12 credits/semester. Another one of our friends only came in with 6 credits, so to stay on track he HAS to take approx 15 credits/semester. So I guess it all depends...

14-16 seems like the norm, but not all courses are 3 credits. Most foreign languages are somewhere around 5 credits, while most of the sciences are somewhere between 4 and 5, because of the accompanying lab.

Someone please tell me if Survey of Calculus MAC2233 is easier than Calculus MAC2311. Everyone I know taking MAC2311 says the teacher is so hard and ridiculus. Any opinion? I only have to take 1 calculus class and I have a choice between MAC2233, MAC2311 and MAC 3472. Thanks.

MAC 3472 is Honors Calculus II, so if you're trying to choose between regular Calculus I and Survey, I don't think Honors Calculus II should even be in the running. I'm almost 100% sure Survey of Calculus I is the easiest calculus class you can have. I'm a Chemistry major, so I need Calculus III, but Calculus II at UF hasn't been TOO bad.

Depends on what you major or future plan is? If you are a science or engineering major or you are on the pre-med track then you have to take the MAC2311. If you are anything else then MAC2233 is ok. They also call 2233 Business Calc b/c most people taking that class are from the business college. Also the difference is the 2311 uses trig and 2233 doesnt.

I am a pre pharm and I have met all my gen eds so basically i only have the required courses left, but as you can tell I hate Calculus. That was why I started with the Precalc so I could get a good refresher for MAC 2311. The prepharm changed their requirements, I don't have a choice I have to take 2311 or 3472 which is honors calc I. Is there someone or somewhere I can go to have a tutor work with me on a very regular basis? Or should I just take calc over the summer. I was thinking of taking Ochem over the summer because I heard it was a good idea. I need suggestions..... Thanks guys, I really appreciate this help.

My D is taking:
POS 2041 ( Am. Fed. government)
AMH 2020 (amer. history since 1877)
MMC 2100 (writing for mass communications)
MAR 3023 (marketing)
and maybe SPC 2600 ( public speaking)

...all required courses to stay on track for her advertising major.

Who does she have for POS 2041? If she wants an easy A, I suggest Hendershot.

She hasn't registered yet but Derek Reiner teaches most of the sections. Hendershot has one section MWF period 1 (7:25 am). She had mentioned trying for Hendershot but rate my professors rates Reiner ok too.
