I heard that spring semester transfers are less common than fall transfers. Are there any specific reasons why some advice against applying for a spring semester transfer? Also, I heard some schools doesn't allow Spring transfers. Can someone confirm this?

There is nothing wrong with a spring transfer if your school accepts them. Sometimes it is easier to gain admittance in the spring vs. the fall because it is a less popular time to transfer.

Transferring in the spring can be less desirable for a few reasons. Some students prefer to enter a school at the beginning of the term with the new incoming class. It can be more advantageous to start with other students that are also new to the school and looking to meet new people. Also, if it is a cold weather school it is nice to begin during the warm weather when everyone is out and about. The fall does have more of a feeling of a new beginning with lots of other students all moving in at the same time and the start up of the new school year. However, a spring transfer can work out just fine. My son just did it this past semester. He is living with a bunch of other transfer students and that has helped.
