I am going to have difficulty affording college. I missed out on applying to some schools I would have liked to, and which would have allowed me to afford it were I accepted. So my question is: If I were to elect not to attend college this fall, would it be an option to apply for the spring semester, or would I have to wait a whole year?

…

I think you would have to wait a entire year. Not sure though.

I doubt that any selective colleges have mid-year admissions. These typically fill the class in the fall term, and 2-term classes are sequenced to start in the fall.

You should however be able to find colleges (such as community colleges, and specialized business schools) that would allow you to take courses in the spring.

Well I’ve thought about community college, but that would require a transfer. The problem with that is the severe difference between financial aid given to incoming freshmen and transfers. And I think it would be difficult to transfer from community college to a school that would give decent aid. (Ivies, etc.) I think that if it comes down to that, I should just stay out for a year and work.
