Hi everyone,
Let this be the official Spring transfer 2008 official thread. Please list below schools that accept spring transfers, and their respective deadlines. Thanks for the help guys!

Harvard College - Feb 15th (Spring AND Fall)

Carnegie Mellon (November 1st)
Rice (October 15th)
Northwestern (November 1st)
Rensellaer (November 1st)

Indiana University - Bloomington (November 1st)

100% sure I won't get in. I'll skip Fall 2008 transfer and rely on Fall 2009 instead.

Why won't you get in? Is it the GPA? That seems to be the one thing that the people on this thing all agree is most critical, even more so that old high school sat scores.

3.98/5.0 GPA high school. 251/529

Taking my ACT for the fourth time on September 15, 2007. It's going to go straight to the school. Highest ever was a 24.

I have 9 semester hours as of Summer 2007. 4.0 GPA. By the end of Fall 2007 I should have 29 hours (including 9 from summer). I should have a pretty high GPA by then.

Even if I do get in, I'll barely be able to pay for it.

I also applied to Fordham as well.

:-D

we need smileys

mannys, you should have no problem getting into IU and fordham with a 3.3+.. probably even with a 3.0.

3.93/5.0. I don't know what that calculates into a 4.0 average, but it isn't good.

If I don't get into IU or Fordham, I'm going to push for NYU, Michigan, Georgetown, UNC, and some others for fall..

tra la la la la

Is it a lot harder to get into some of these schools for the Spring semester as opposed to Fall semester?

No. I just have shiddy stats.

i think he was asking a general question.

btw indiana i not even hard to get into.you have nothing to worry about.

Sorry for the confusion. Yes, I meant in general is it more difficult to transfer for the spring semester? I plan on applying as well and I feel this is my last opportunity to do so and I am quite worried. I know less people are accepted but I was also thinking that there are less people applying for the spring. So are my chances of getting into a different university higher or lower?

Ehhh...seriously the only problem arises when you have a minimal amount of credits, and you get accepted. They want your grades from Fall during winter break and it's hard to get them out there. You need to do financial aid. You need to do a million things in a few weeks.

But they'll happily accept you.

Please keep this thread relevant...
Anymore universities?

MannyS, my friend was in the same situation as you. He took classes over the summer and once he hit the credit number (I think it's 24), he forwarded IU his transcript and within a week was enrolled. His transcript was horrendous in terms of grades as was his course difficulty.

Manny S... if u want to transfer to elite universities private or public... i would recommend you to wait until next semester.

Try to hit a 4.0 this coming semester...and then apply....

I am sure u will get in then...

Any more guys?

I'm trying to get into Kelley :-p

Spring is kind of out of the question. I wholeheartedly recommend Fall to everyone.

bump this...

UVA November 1st

Applying to Northwestern, Emory, Cornell, WashU, and Rice.
