Congrats everyone who got in! Cornell is an absolutely amazing place and ur all going to love it! (esp congrats to all u ILRies!). Welcome to the family everyone!

Thanks Figgy.
BtW...Figgy...where you a transfer student? If so which dorm do you recommend? which is the most social?

Yes, congratulations to you guys!

Mail just came... and still no letter. I understand the concept of rolling admissions, but this is getting absurd.

Yup I was a gauranteed transfer. I deffffinitely recommend West...it has THE nicest dorms. They are only social if u make them tho...transfers usually do want to be social so as more and more transfers move west they will become more social (the previous most social dorm was the old transfer dorm). U can't go wrong w/ anything on west. I personally love Becker tho...it has it's own caf which is pretty good (in middle of west campus rankings, but obvi nothing compared to giant north cafs - ps all west campus dining halls are all-you-can eat and u can go in whenever u want - your meal plan also covers all west campus dorms so u can go to every single one), a conference room, library, common room, comp lab, study rooms, pantry where they put free food everyday, a giannnnnt laundry room, as well as a really nice tv room with an enormous television. It's also brannnnd new with big rooms. I like...lol

ps if u like frats almost all of the best frats r on west so u get to walk like a foot back to ur dorm while ppl on north have a large trek. You are also close to collegtown.

I just got my housing assignment, what do you guys think?

Room Reservation Details
Room: CKMN 3XX
Room Type: UG Single
Location: Cook - Main
Floor: Not applicable

Good, Bad? What to expect?

Very good, congrats on getting West! Except a great time! (but cold...and a hike up the hill whenever u dont take the bus lol). West is the best tho!

haha, thanks man, I'm excited. Is it hard to get into west? Also how close will I be to my classes (AEM) and a exercise gym?

anyone not recieve their packet or letter yet in the mail?

^^do you mean you are not aware of you admission decision yet or you just haven't received the letter..they close tomorrow (they work a half day) and they don't reopen again till January 2...so i would call and find out or call and tell them to resend your package whichever of the latter that apply s to your situation.

Ya it is very hard...hasbrouk is where most go and that's not the best place lol. Luckily the school is building 2 more buildings on west to be done by next school year so then transfers will be fine.

Hey I just got assigned my room as well. It is also west campus, HANS BETHE HOUSE. Hopefully there will be other transfers.

Don't worry...many of us transfers already inhabit west campus houses. You are taking the place of ppl who are studying abroad or ppl who studied abroad to Cornell. During ur orientation n meetings I'd defffffinitely look for new transfers who live near u.

WHY HAVENT I GOT a housing assignment lol.....do they email it to us?? Where do you find this

I filled my housing app online and did it the first day I got my packet because I wanted priority. I found out online about my assignment as well.

I also applied to the language house. I emailed someone and they said they would switch my assignment. Hopefully I will meet a bunch of people.Besides I do have to speak whatever language. haha

btw....anyone get their NETID's yet?

does anyone know what day we can move in?

First day of my housing contract is January 14th.

Hey has anyone received a credit evaluation? When do we get that....

I received that too with my Cornell Bound packet

They accepted all my credits.
