Spring transfer decisions

Did anyone get in for Spring 2008?

everyone hears back today or tomorrow i think...

Just got the letter a few minutes ago...I got in! Does anyone know when we find out about housing?

Congratulations!!!

Yay, obiewoes!!! I see that you have also applied to Wellesley and, I think maybe Amherst. Have you heard from them and do you know your first choice? I, of course, think it should be Barnard! :)

did anyone else hear? i didnt get a letter in the mail todayy

I'm so torn...I'm waiting to hear from Amherst, Wellesley, and Smith. Amherst is a huge reach because they only accept like 5% of transfers...and I'm not even sure I want to go there anymore. I thought Wellesley was my top choice...but now that I've learned more about/visited Barnard, I'm not so sure anymore. I have to decide soon, I guess. To be honest, though, if I can't get dorm housing, and get in to Wellesley (fingerscrossed), I probably won't go to Barnard...I'm not prepared to live alone in NYC!!

Thanks for the congratulations :-)

Congrats on getting in! yay!!

i know this is really lame and not an accurate measurement of acceptance, but would you mind posting your stats? like hs GPA, STATs, college GPA, ECs, etc? no worries if you would prefer not to. im applying as a fall 2008 transfer (sophomore).

Umm...sure.

HS GPA: 3.5 or something like that...pretty challenging courses, APs and whatnot, but to be honest I pretty much sleep-walked through high school
HS ECs: a ton, most actively involved in Forensics (public speaking competitions), jewish youthgroup, newspaper, and theater
ACT: 30

College GPA: 3.88 with really difficult premed/neuroscience course load
College ECs: I'm more of a quality over quantity person.
Rugby Team - starting winger, social secretary
Cooperative Dining - I eat in a coop...cook/clean/work 5 hrs/week, have been on a few committees, elected granola maker (aka I make enough granola to feed 70 hungry hippies every week)
Volunteer at Family Planning - give pregnancy test results, counsel on abortion, adoption, and teen parenting, etc.
Research assistant in neuroscience department
Sketch Comedy group - writer, performer
College Singers

Summer internship at Wayne State as a research assistant...worked in vivo (rabbit model), and in vitro, also actively helped develop and begin a research project for a medical resident. My PI and I had a great relationship and she wrote me a supplemental letter of rec.

Winter Term (january) 2007, full-time internship at a Boston "queer activism through theater" non-profit, fundraising/planning for the annual gala event

Ummm...yeah. I don't know, I don't think I'm particularly spectacular, but I have good reasons for wanting to transfer and (at least I thought, and I guess they agreed) good reason to think that Barnard would be a fit for me.

Let us know what you decide, obiewoes. It sounds like you have much to offer...

Didn't get in. Got into Villanova University, Trinity College, Lehigh University and picked Lehigh.
