Spring transfer for Northeastern

I see mostly prospective freshman post in here, so I apologize if this is the wrong spot for a transfer inquiry..

Firstly, do you guys think transferring into the Spring makes it a little more difficult than in the Fall? I would think, sensibly, that there are less spots to be had in the Spring. So that has to decrease my chances. Any insight on that topic would be appreciated.

Anyhow, here's my stats. No HS and SAT scores will be necessary, but screw it, I'll post them anyhow.

HS GPA- 2.6
SAT Scores- 1740 (Math- 540, Critical Reading-580, Writing- 620)

Community college GPA- 3.75
- That's only through 21 credits. As it stands right now, my projected current semester GPA is 3.81. I used a generic GPA calculator I found on google, I guess it could vary. Either way, not much change. By the end of this semester, I'll have 37 credits. I'm taking 12 credits in the Summer (3 online classes) and 12 in the Fall in order to get my associates in gen. studies/liberal arts. Hypothetically, my GPA will be between 3.6-3.9. I'm going to work as hard as I can to increase it.

EC's- Not much to make note of. My HS EC's were basically nonexistent. As it stands, my past EC's include guitar, a six month internship at a local insurance company (my stepdads), working part time for the past year and a half, and being an active Phi Theta Kappa member. I might do some tutoring, not sure yet.

Want to major in: History. Northeastern seems to have a great History program with a concentration in public history. It gives you practical experience in the field and I'm really into it. My secondary choice would be economics.

Essay and recommendation: I'm still unsure what to write about in my transfer essay. Since they won't see my high school stats, they won't see the drastic upward curve in grades. I suppose I could display my enthusiasm for the history program, and how the location of Boston would provide me with tremendous experience in the field, considering all the museums and stuff. But again, not sure. As for the rec, I'm going to get it from a history professor.

Extra stuff- white male, middle class, will probably be applying for a decent amount of loans. In state from Massachusetts.

Sorry I wrote a novel. Any comments, advice, insight?
