I'm interested in transferring next spring (2013) to NYU CAS as a sophomore.
I'm an Int'l student and an Econ Major currently in the University of Rochester.
I have already completed 36 credit hours, and will complete around 52 credit hours as fall semester ends.

HS GPA: My school didn't have a gpa system, although I did the IB diploma (averaged around 36-38 out of 42 possible points over 2 years)
College GPA: 1st semester pretty low: 3.42
2nd semester: 3.92
So cumulatively that's around 3.68
SATS= 1900 (pretty low so I plan to not submit them)
Highschool EC's: Leader of Speak Up! (MUN & Debate Club),
Vice-president of the Student council- fundraising committee
One of the editors in school newspaper
Houseteam captain in HS
Soccer, Volleyball team
College EC's: Badminton club
Muslim Student Association
Awards: Dean's List
Recognition awards in MUN's in HS
1st place/2nd place regional debate competition in HS
Volleyball/Scholar Athlete awards

What do you think are my chances?
THAANKS GUYSS, I'm pretty nervous even though it's still july :O

Hey there! Im applying to CAS Spring 2013 too! Depending on transfer credit I would be either a Sophomore/Junior if I get into NYU. I think you got some chances if you manage to get all As in your mid-term report besides some outstanding prof recs. The GPA is not so good, but since Rochester is at about the same level as NYU maybe that is not as bad. Also you seem to be lacking either internship or research experience, that would be a great addition to your application. Write great essays like they taught us in the IB, yes, I also took that pain, and hope for the best!

I was rejected for this Fall so I’m hoping to get luckier this time. May the odds be ever in your favor!

Sophomore at Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY
