spring transfer option questions

So I got a couple weeks ago a transfer option to cals for spring '10, and I just had a few questions for anyone who has transferred in the spring or who has gotten a transfer option:

In my case, since I'm transferring to CALS spring '10, by the time the transfer application is due, grades at my college will obviously not have come out yet. Does that mean that there will be no college transcript whatsoever to send to Cornell?

Also, I understand completely Cornell's rationale for wanting a recommendation from an adviser, professor, or dean, but I will have only known them for about a month before they will have to have written a recommendation for me. Do you think this recommendation will be weighted very heavily?

For anyone who has gotten a transfer option in the past - what is meant by the "special transfer planning and advising" that they offer to people who have gotten this?

Finally, when does the spring transfer supplement become available online?

Thanks

Do you have a guaranteed transfer?

I was an applicant who was accepted to CALS for Fall of '09, but financial aid stopped me from attending. My parents said I could attend in spring for sure because that saves just enough money. Unfortunately, I have to go through and reapply…I have no idea what it means by ‘special transfer planning and advising’ but if you find out more, please share!

I do know about grades-they’ll still count, your app will just be incomplete until your midterm grades are finished and sent. You’ll probably have to go to each professor and collect them (if they tell you ‘i dont have grades done’ tell them to put an estimate down.) I assume you’re a sophomore or junior, in both cases your previous years will be sent (as long as…you send them.)

If you’re a freshman, then yeah…wait until midterms and send them.

I also don’t know when they spring supplement becomes available, I’d guess around mid/late August.
