Spring Transfer or Fall Transfer? Help me out plz!

Hi,

I currently study at UCSD, and I am a sophomore. I plan to transfer to a university in the east coast. I found out that many schools offer spring transfer, like NYU, Cornell, Northwestern. Since spring transfer has less applicants than fall transfer, does it help the acceptance rate?

Also, I am double major in Applied Math and Econ. When I apply as a transfer student, I only can declare one major. Is it hard to declare my second major as a junior in the new school?

I really appreciate your help.

I suggest you contact the admission office of the schools you are interested in (by the way Northwestern is not really on the “East Coast”, rather the “Third Coast”) and ask them some of these questions. They will usually be happy to answer them for you and the answers may vary from university to university.

At my school, Illinois Institute of Technology, even if you transfer in with a single major, it is easy enough to declare a second one once you are enrolled. Not sure if it is that easy elsewhere but it might be.

Good Luck

Thanks! i will email them.
