Spring Transfer to W&M

Hey all,

I am just wondering, what are my shots of admission at W&M? Is anyone else in the same spot as I am?

I am originally from New Hampshire, I go to the University of Massachusetts Amherst and I have a 3.62 GPA with an expected 3.75 GPA average at the end of my fall semester. I am a sophomore, I will have about 44 credits by the end of this semester (fall).

In HS I was only average, GPA 3.25 and SAT 1220 (hence, I go to the University of Massachusetts). I am so concerned by the fact that W&M is so insanely selective over its out-of-state people and I just don't think I am going to make it in by my HS transcript and not having their "average" GPA of a solid 4.0.

Any remarks, suggestions; more importantly, is anyone in my situation?

i'm applying to WM

Nontraditional student (25 yrs old)
International work experience

Northern Virginia Community College
38 credits at time of application 3.66 GPA
took 21 credits over summer

taking 25 credits now - midterm grades 4.0

Expected post-fall semester 2005 grades - 3.8

Good luck :) I am assuming you are also in-state, due to the community college, though I could be entirely incorrect.

We seem to be in almost the same position (minus the in-state part) because I read that W&M perfers a 3.7GPA from community college for the minimum and from traditional 4-year colleges a 3.5GPA; here we just barely hit the bar.

LOL, it's so stressful; I just want in, damn it!

You'll have to keep in touch and tell me if you make it in!

Hey I go to W&M currently as a freshman, and I'm originally from MA. I think the transfer acceptance rate here is fairly high, so you should have a good shot. It's great down here, but don't come looking for insane parties.

has anyone heard back?
