Spring transfer

We don’t have an Econ major at my college (Chester College of New England), so perhaps I can help. I am an Admission Director. A lot of colleges want Spring transfers. They may not promote it, since most of them are looking hard and heavy at Fall. However, it is simply a matter of math. Students leave college in the Spring for any number of reasons (financial, performance, fit, homesickness, cost, etc.). Generally speaking, the college would like to replace those students.

The thing that might get in the way is if their curriculum is structured in such a way, that it makes it difficult to enter in mid-year. Other colleges, such as those state schools that might be heavily impacted, might deter Spring transfers. However, if you see colleges you are interested in, I would definitely simply make direct contact with that school and ask them. Dont’ limit yourself from an opportunity you would really like to pursue, simply because they are not promoting it somewhere.

Good luck!
