Spring Transfer

Will it be hard to meet people and make friends in the spring? I’m worried about it but so excited to finally go to Albany! And will I be living in Alumni Quad?

Hey! I am currently a student from UAlbany and I actually transferred from community college last year, so I am now a senior. It so easy to make friends because there’s a lot that’s offered as far as clubs/organizations. Join a sorority, or find a club that fits your major, or find an on campus job or something! There is a lot to do here and it’s a really great school.

My only warning is that the campus is undergoing a lotttt of construction so it’s kind of torn apart right now. After next fall though, it should look awesome! Renovated courtyard, east/west addition to the campus center, original campus center completely renovated and we should be getting a college of engineering and other new programs! UAlbany is making some pretty awesome changes

The chances you live on Alumni are probably pretty high, however if you want to make friends that’s probably the place to do it. There’s going to probably be a lot of kids who are transferring just like you are along with the kids that just transferred in the fall, so you are going to be with people in similar situations. Alumni is the quad that is most “communal” on campus. The RAs there do a lot of different events to try and get you to meet the kids that you live around. Also, on campus, there is sure to be a club that interests you and that’s a great way to meet other kids from all over the place who have similar interests as you.

Hey I have a question when you transferred what was your GPA ? and how long did it take for your decision ? Also did you receive it by mail or email ?

Really late on this but I was about a 3.2 GPA and got it by both email and mail in March or so.
