Hi, I was wondering if there is anybody else applying for Spring Transfer. I have submitted part of my common app, (still working on my supplement)and I had a few questions.
1)Do you know when we will get portal login information to check the received/missing materials?

Do you think it’s ok to send a resume through the mail? I just realized that I didn’t list as much activities I was involved in on the Common App, although the activities I did mention were large in my life(RA, tech intern, work study jobs, club president/founder).

How many spring transfers are accepted? Do you think it’s more competitive during the spring? I only know the stats of fall + spring.
I really love Wellesley. I’m currently on a leave of absence from my other school, another women’s college, and I hope I will be able to attend Wellesley in the spring.
I would call the admissions office about #2, just to be safe.
From what I recall, there aren’t a whole lot of spring transfers. However, that’s likely because the number of applications is pretty low. The fact that you’re familiar with the women’s college environment and were very involved at your previous school is a good sign. It sounds like you have a strong application.
Thank you WendyWell. for commenting! I hope I do have a strong application. I did well in college and really thrived, however due to personal reasons my hs grades and SATs are not the best. I’m really hoping my teacher recs and essays will make up for it.
Any spring transfer applicants?? I’m literally shaking in my boots, I’m so scared about hearing the decision this Monday. Hearing that there is a 10% transfer admit rate, scares the heck out of me! I really hope I get in!!
I am also applying for the spring semester! How do you know the decision comes out monday? Did you receive login information for a portal?
@RPurtsch4 if you applied for spring you should have gotten the portal login a few days after you submitted the common app, it shows where the decisions will be posted on the front page , good luck!
Did you guys apply anywhere else? I just found out I got in to Mount Holyoke and that’s probably where im accepting
That’s great! I just found out I was rejected. Sucks, but I’m trying to stay positive and wait for Smith and Oberlin.
@vorlongrrl I was also rejected and wait for Smith. Do you know when the Smith result come out?
I just got into wellesley! I’m also waiting for Smith to come out i think it should be between the 12th and the 15th
I believe on the 11th. Someone told me that they mail decisions out, which sucks, because I need to know as soon as possible. Smith is like my last chance. I was accepted to Emory and they need a deposit by the 10th. I’m going to call them tomorrow morning to see if I can get notified sooner.
Where are you transferring from? I’m now really regretting not applying to Mt. Holyoke or more match schools.
I’m in the same boat needing an answer ahead of time, I emailed asking when the earliest time to find out is but they haven’t responded yet. I’m transferring from Florida State University, what woman’s college are you at now? There’s always time to apply for the fall!
I’m taking a LOA, but I was at Mills ( a woman’s college in the bay area). I really want to go back to college, and I can’t see myself taking an entire year off from school.
Have you applied anywhere else? Any acceptances?
I’m worried because for smith I wrote down that I was gender-queer/trans. I mostly admitted this because it affected my hs grades and I wanted them to have some context for that, but recently, I saw that they don’t admit folks who don’t identify as a woman. I just really regret even adding that part, because even though I’m trans, I prefer woman’s colleges and identify with womanhood. (Sorry this is like a mini rant/meltdown.) but I really hope smith can admit me.
Are you a junior or sophomore transfer?
Smith has recently begun accepting trans students! If you think that will have any effect on your admissions decision I think you should definitely call them to express your interest and clear up any confusion they could have (though I believe they send emails right away if they are not considering your application based on gender, at least that’s mount holyoke’s policy). I wouldn’t worry too much about mentioning it, they seem to have adopted a policy of ‘the applicant knows best’ in terms of womanhood, plus it will make your application much more human to the board.
I’ll be a second semester sophomore next semester (if all my credits transfer) and I only applied to moho, smith and wellesley, I hope smith will be able to release my decision early the wait is killing me!
Yeah, but they’ve been accepting trans women, since I mentioned that I’m gender-queer, they’ll assume that I don’t identify as a woman, but it does make sense for them to send an email if they weren’t going to consider me.
Are you leaning toward any particular school? Have you had the chance to visit?
I visited smith and Mount holyoke over thanksgiving break and loved them both, I haven’t had a chance to see wellesley and honestly I didn’t ever think I had a chance so I haven’t given it much thought yet. As of right now I’m still leaning towards Mount Holyoke because it is such a chill, homey school but it really depends on the financial aid at this point.
I agree, MoHo is really cute, it reminds me a lot of Mills. Also I just found out that decisions for smith come out at 6pm EST on the 11th. At this point tho, I’m not really confident on acceptance, but it would be great if I did get admitted, since my sister is at one of the other schools in the consortium and we’ll be close to each other.
I don’t think you can go wrong with any one of them!
I’m so nervous for tomorrow, I hate that they’re posting them so late in the day!
yeah, i don’t think I’m going to get it. I’ve lost all hope tbh. Thankfully i’m not in the east coast so it will come out 3 pm for me. But don’t be nervous! I think you’re going to get in for sure!
