Spring Transfer

Hello everyone. I'm a spring admit and I am trying to figure out what I will be doing during the fall of 2010 and even at Berkeley during my two years of attendance. I want to graduate with all the fall students in may of 2012. Here's my concern: I want to study abroad during one of the semsters or even summer. Do you guys still think I would be able to graduate in May of 2012? I am transfering to L&S with 61 units as a poli sci major.

Also, Is it possible to take courses at another UC during the fall? Just wondering.

Thanks for any help!

It’s absolutely possible. They mention this specifically at CalSo. Also, if you go to your major’s department, they can help plan a schedule to make sure you graduate in 2 years.

I’m in the same boat you are, and am also a poli sci major. I’m planning on taking a couple of classes over the fall through the extension program. You can check it out here…
[UC Berkeley Extension — Continuing Education and Professional Development](http://extension.berkeley.edu/)
Go to the concurrent enrollment link. Fair warning… it’s pretty damn expensive, no financial aid is available for it, and from what I’m told it’s a royal pain to get any classes. That said, remember you can transfer up to 70 units in, so you could conceivably take 9 more credits at Berkeley CC (or whatever CC you prefer) and transfer those in instead.
I would also recommend talking to a poli sci department advisor, they’re really helpful and will definitely fill in the blanks for you.
Good luck!

Thank you guys so much. Seriously, this helps a great deal. It’s really simple to become overloaded with information, especially when your searching for answers on your own. I will definitely call the poli sci department tomorrow.

Hey Folks, I am bumping this thread because I have a new question for fellow Spring admits. I am planning on taking courses during the fall and possibly during this current summer. Are we still being held under our conditions of admission agreement? Meaning, if we don’t pass all our classes or receive a 3.0 gpa, does our admission at UC Berkeley get rescinded?

how do you not get above a 3.0 as a poli sci major?
