Spring Transfers 2010

I read somewhere that NYU would be notifying transfer students who were applying for the Spring 2010 semester starting November 15th, aiming to notify everyone by December 20th. I was wondering though if anyone has heard anything from them yet. I assume they are doing it on a rolling basis so some people must have heard by now. I, however, have not heard anything, and it's driving me crazy. So, is there anyone who has? Rejected? Wait-listed? Accepted? Anybody? Thank you!

pretty sure it’s not on a rolling basis.
I applied in late September and still haven’t heard from them.

yeah i got accepted :)

Got my acceptance letter yesterday

did u get a package when u got accepted or a letter with instructions? …

bhagman: Acceptance into CAS or LSP?

I just got accepted to CAS and they notified me through email. I’m hoping my letter comes today, but maybe it’s taking a bit longer because I’m in California. Good luck!

ihatemonash: I received a package with a purple folder inside of it that included my admissions letter, information pamphlet, candidate reply form and transfer credit information.

SleepingGrunt: I got into Gallatin

thanks for that.
i just got accepted into gallatin as well!!!
but havent got my package yet. i’m on holidays.
hey
can u tell me the deadline for putting a deposit in???
thanks!

oops.
i just found out. 2 weeks from the day u receive the letter.
anyway.
hows your credit evaluation look?
were they generous?

They accepted all but 6 of my credits. I just need to send them a course description on the 6 missing credits (they were an independent study). What about you?

they accepted all of my credits- so i’ve got 96 credits to complete at nyu.
i didnt know nyu was this expensive though- at about 70k a year, since i’m an international.
hve u decided whether or not ull be attending nyu?
i also got in at gallatin as well.
what college r u transferring from btw?

Already sent in my deposit and started looking for apartments. I’m transferring from The George Washington University, what about you?

there’s also a huge NYU spring transfers thread in the Transfer Student subforum.

you didn’t get housing???
thats too bad.
i’m sending in my deposit tomorrow.
i dontk now what the deal with housing is.it’s kind of confusing.

Oh I didn’t apply for housing, just decided to get an apartment. As far as applying for housing just make sure you check the box for housing & tuition and pay the deposit for both of them. Pretty much what NYU does is place transfer students in empty housing slots.

thanks for the info =]
so hopefully, ill see u at orientation, right?
i’m so excited!
but i still need to get a visa before i can come…which is really frustrating.

have u heard back from nyu after u sent the reply slip?
also- have u registered for any classes yet?

Yep I should be at orientation. Haven’t heard back yet, probably will later this week. Haven’t registered for classes yet either, I kinda wanna speak with my adviser (still haven’t been placed with one) before I start registering for classes. I’m planning on doing 40 credits in class and the rest of them outside of class.

how do u plan on doing that?.?
through internships ?
ive got about 96 credits to fulfil at nyu…
i wanna get a few credits outside of class as well, preferably though internships but that probably wont be until i settle in and have had a chance to roam around nyc, etc.
whats your concentration btw?

I run my own company and have a couple of other business ventures. I’m also the Chief Technology Officer of a Washington, DC-Based non-profit in which I’m in charge of all technical ventures. I spoke to someone at Gallatin before applying and was informed that I can get up to 64 credits through independent studies, tutorials etc. I haven’t decided on my major yet, but I’m probably going to start with Information Systems and Health Policy. I’m pretty sure thats going to change though, we’ll see! What are you planning on majoring in?
