Hi,

I got an invite for the spring visitation at Notre Dame and I was wondering does this mean that, though not officially, I am admitted to Notre Dame?

I could certainly be wrong, but I don’t think ND plays any games in terms of “clues” - when you get your letter, then THAT’s when you are accepted! Does the invitation say for accepted students or is it just a general visitation for juniors or seniors?

I think they do it to increase their yeild rate, should you get accepted!

It’s an all expense paid trip for four days march 25th-march 28th for diversity students. I’m really hoping that this means I am going to be accepted, it would suck to come there and really fall in love with Notre Dame if they weren’t going to accept me.

I’ll just ask you this: Do you think the university would be willing to offer an all-expense paid trip for those they did not plan to offer admissions to?

Does anyone know if invitation to Reilly weekend preclude an admitted student from being invited to Spring Visitation?

I received a letter, too. Does that mean anything? I’m a minority with decent stats:
ACT 31, SAT Math II: 800, Physics and Chem 770. My family immigrated to the US in August 2008.

It means you’re admitted. It would be incredibly illogical to assume that they wouldn’t admit you if they are willing to spend over $500 for you to take a gander at their campus.

In the letter, they even say things like “we hope you choose Notre Dame” and “it does not obligate you to attend” and so forth.

The only reason they wouldn’t admit you would probably be if you go there and sock the dean or something

Does anyone know how the experience is or whether its worth going?

It’s worth going if you’re interested in getting in…I’m sure that attending an invite-only weekend is looked on very favorably by admissions counselors.

hey im a freshman at ND and i went to Spring Vis last year. first off, its an awesome time with awesome people and they pretty much pump you full of free stuff and food.

we had an awesome fancy dinner in the stadiums press box–no ones allowed up there.

and they announce that everyone there got in (so you’re accepted) and then by the end of the weekend you have individual meetings with finaid reps to get your award in person. awesome. go, and have a good time.

@brendan24: Thank you for your information. Was you satisfied with your FA package?

Hey I received the same kind of offer to go spend 4 days at Notre Dame but in April and I was wondering if anyone else had gotten the same? (im international)

The April visit is smaller than the upcoming one, but still coincides with a number of campus events.

Our Daughter is going on April 17 for the Reilly Visitation. We haven’t received the paper work yet… tickets etc.

Spring Visitation has been really awesome!
