Anyone out there get one?

I did too! Does this mean something? Would they reject someone after spending so much money on letting us see the school?

I don't know. I'd love to hear from someone who knows about the program. The letter was encouraging, but stopped short of the magic "you're accepted" phrase. In any event, I'm dying to get to campus anyway, and this makes it so much easier.

Well, I wasn't invited to my year's Spring Vis, but I can tell you that most of my friends that went to it really enjoyed themselves. Congratulations on your invitation, only a select number of minorities are invited.

I was invited to one Feb. 26-29... I'm super excited :)

if you are a minority and are remotely qualified, you will probably get in

^^^ I would definitely have to disagree with that, as I know of many qualified minorities who were not accepted into ND.

I'm Portuguese and was invited to the March 26-29 Spring Visitation as well. While Portuguese is considered a cultural minority, it is not really a racial minority. I'm 99% sure that I didn't mark Hispanic on my application. In fact, I'm pretty sure I checked white. My last name is very Hispanic-looking, so a part of me thinks they must have just been going off of that.

However, I'd feel kinda silly turning down a trip to visit when I would have to go with my whole family (which can get quite pricey) later. Is it totally wrong of me to just come out anyway?

Yea i got invited as well for the march 26-29 dates. I was accepted EA.

If you were invited, your accepted:
"Your application for admission has been evaluated by two admissions counselors, and we are convinced that you have much to contribute to the multicultural atmosphere on Notre Dame's campus."

I just received my letter yesterday to go down on March 26th - 29th. I haven't been accepted yet either but I'm pretty excited about going to see the school and stay in the dorms

Just so you guys know, Spring Visitation is a great weekend, where you get to experience the cultural aspects of ND, BUT that is just one weekend out of the whole year. The rest of the year is not likely to be like that.

I got one for March 26-29! Does this mean we’re accepted because that would be totally awesome! I’m half colombian, half chinese. Any other hapas here?

It’d be nice if it was a definite acceptance But I’m planning to go! How about everyone else?

Does this mean anything in terms of a possible acceptance or does it not mean anything at all?

If it was a definite acceptance I think they would’ve said so. But we can hope! :)

do we bring sleeping bags?

^^^That depends on whether you’re sleeping on your host’s floor or not. In most cases, you guys will be sleeping on futons. If you’re lucky-like my prospect- you’ll actually get a bed to sleep in.

sorry i should have clarified. if you are qualified with qualifications other than your status as a underrepresented minority, and are a urm, you will likely get in.

Does not attending have any effect on chances? I realized I have a scholarship interview on that very day…March 26 and I probably won’t get to go even though I really want to…so I’m just wondering if anyone may know if this means anything.
