spring vs fall semester

I have been admitted to Ohio State university for the spring 2015 session. I know that most students go in fall semesters but I really wanted to know how is it up to be at spring session? Will there be enough students coming in spring so that I can socialize or is the social life completely dead in spring?
I really want to make good friends and do want to be completely left aside with strangers, please help.

I can’t tell you about Ohio State specifically, but can say from my experience at GW that there aren’t as many new students in the spring semester. Our university makes a big deal about “move-in week” in August with all kinds of events, free food, etc, and really encourages people to get out and meet new people. Spring move-in didn’t have nearly the hype, so I could imagine it being more difficult (not impossible) to meet new people, so most students will have found their “group” by then.

@NHuffer‌ Thanks alot for your reply. Could You share abit more about your experience as a spring freshman? I mean did you room in with a new student? and were all the people from your classes were new or were there any fall people too?
thanks :D

Sorry- reading back over my original post I see how it implied I was a spring student when I in fact was not. I was only offering what I saw as a general student. However, I can still answer your new questions :)

You may or may not room with a new student. There are plenty of freshman that swap rooms/roommates after the first semester, so you could just as well end-up with one of them. I can’t imagine there being any classes that are for new students only unless your university has a “freshman comp” class. GW had something called University Writing that I believe was only in the fall (and mandatory for all students) so in your case, you’d take that class (if you went to GW) the following fall with the new freshmen.

OHH I really appreciate your response… thanks a ton :)
